Disabled toddlers are welcome everywhere.

[-] SuckMyWang@lemmy.world 20 points 5 months ago

Either that or the toilets are for disabled people and giants

[-] Lux@lemmy.blahaj.zone 38 points 5 months ago

*118 verified possible genders

[-] Agent641@lemmy.world 16 points 5 months ago

Some believe in a possible island of gender stability above 180.

[-] Deconceptualist@lemm.ee 4 points 5 months ago

Not including exotic ~~atoms~~ genders like positronium

But a lot vanish before they are observed.

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 3 points 5 months ago

I wanna pre-emptively name one that hasn't been discovered yet "bolognium."

[-] taiyang@lemmy.world 36 points 5 months ago

Yes, but some genders can only exist in strict laboratory settings and often for only a very brief moment.

Aside, I like the implication that when things get hot and melty, though, folks end up being gender fluid.

Yeah, but it's the gender gas and gender plasma you really have to watch out for!

The most interesting behaviour happens at the gender triple point. And don't get me started on Bose-Einstein condengender!

[-] NONE_dc@lemmy.world 28 points 5 months ago

There are only two genders: ferrous or non-ferrous.

[-] GoddessOfGouda@lemmy.world 14 points 5 months ago

Why not “Ma” for “male”? Why is the women’s bathroom the “female bathroom” and the men’s is just “man” or “men” or whatever??

[-] grue@lemmy.world 19 points 5 months ago

Why not “Ma” for “male”?

Because then it's the restroom for your mom.

[-] VindictiveJudge@lemmy.world 13 points 5 months ago

Good point. It would have to be much larger.

[-] DumbAceDragon@sh.itjust.works 15 points 5 months ago

Men and Femen

[-] Wander@kbin.social 14 points 5 months ago

Maybe it isnt in an english speaking country, and makes sense in another language?

[-] GoddessOfGouda@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago

Good point. It’s weird how Fe is so close to the English word Female tho

[-] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 4 points 5 months ago

Might be because of Latin root...

[-] Septimaeus@infosec.pub 11 points 5 months ago

Triangles are masculine, obviously.

[-] Rozauhtuno@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 5 months ago

Kiki moment

[-] moody@lemmings.world 4 points 5 months ago

Why didn't they just use tungsten instead of iron?

[-] Ephera@lemmy.ml 4 points 5 months ago

I've never seen the English word for "manganese" and thought it was some "manga" pun, like anime.

It's kind of silly, too. The German word is even closer ("Mangan"), but I never realized the similarity.

[-] eth0p@iusearchlinux.fyi 2 points 5 months ago

This looks extremely familiar... do all universities do this?

[-] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 1 points 5 months ago

Imagine the conspiracy theories if they use the first letters of each sex "Fe" "Ma"

[-] naun@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

They wind up with a humanitarian aid camp.

[-] meowMix2525@lemm.ee 1 points 5 months ago
