Who would've thought.... 3DFX was apparently ahead of its time...

Okay, cool...

So, how much longer before Nvidia stops slapping a "$500-600 RTX XX70" label on a $300 RTX XX60 product with each new generation?

The thinly-veiled 75-100% price increases aren't fun for those of us not constantly-touching-themselves over AI.

Obama renamed Mt. McKinley to Denali by executive order. Trump is using executive order to rename it back.

Biden outlawed oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. Trump used executive order to rename it so the Gulf of Mexico "doesn't exist". (EDIT: Actually the naming appears to be unrelated to this. The drilling ban was specifically reversed in a different executive order that reversed several Biden EOs)

It's all questionable use of executive order. But which party is going to step up and say "the last guy did it, but our guy shouldn't be able to ignore checks & balances anymore"?

If you follow hashtags, and you're a big frickin' nerd, Mastodon actually has pretty good content.

I constantly see people saying this.

Explain the pricing on virtually every non-Valve-published game on IsThereAnyDeal at any given time. Steam is almost always being undercut by another legit store selling legit Steam keys.

So, uh.... Why does Elon even care about this?

Is this from that Iranian hack of the Trump organization or something?

(EDIT: Literal first paragraph of the article. Yes.)

Strongly recommend a KDE-based distro if coming from Windows.

Gnome is too janky when you're used to the workflow in Windows. It's almost like Windows 8, which nobody uses if they can help it.

KDE is just way more familiar.

Just bought a bunch of $75 12TB disks from GoHardDrive's eBay storefront.

Still running through the diagnostics, but nothing has jumped out yet, 48hrs in. Sure, they're 4 years old and have over a petabyte of lifetime writes. They also have 5 year warranties.
