Fellow Gentoo user! Kudos.

Work is work.

Is sex work selling your body? Is doing masonry carpentry or road fixing work anything less than that?

Is sex work ethical? Is working for a weapon manufacture ethical?

I think the point on sex work is a different one: exploitation. That is wrong and should not be allowed or tolerated. But is it avoidable?

The focus should not be on the sex workers tough, but on the clients. The sex workers will always be there as long as there is demand for them.

So, yes, give sex workers the opportunity to work in a safe and not abused environment, so that it can be a choice like any other work. Which means, legalize, regulate, and so on.

Ext4 on every Linux device.

Ah i dont have any other kind of devices (android on mobile, but there I have no choices on fs)

Why not btrfs? Don't know, been using what has kept working flawlessly for me for the last 20+ years, no need to replace ext4.

Do not marry the first girl you fuck (or the first boy, either way, mixed ways too, anytype anyway).

Go live with him/her, share an apartment (do not buy together) for months, live together for some time.

Possibly, break up and meet more people, rinse and repeat until you understand:

  • what you WANT in the other person
  • what you EXPECT from the other person

And more important even, learn to understand the other person for what he/she is and not what you think he/she is.

Don't have batteries and cannot resell yet (paperwork submitted and waiting) so production is restrained to autoconsume....

But 640kw in 73 dsys here... (6kw rooftop, but mixed rainy weather)

I wouldn't follow the advice of using Immich. While its a great tool, growing fast and super polished, its currently aimed at photo backup from your android phone/tablet and is not a good pick for a family photo gallery.

To that end I would look into pigallery2 or the very good homegallery, which is still in early stages as well but also quite polished and already working great. They will not replace Immich, but will complete the workflow nicely.

My photo management flow (which includes your requirements, plus the capability to organize new photos over time) is here https://wiki.gardiol.org/doku.php?id=services:photomanagement if you are interested.

In general the flow is to buy or recycle a pc of anykind, install linux (optional, but recomendes), buy a domain you like from some registrar, setup some kind of remote access from outside to your home, and install the services you want.

The workflow mandatory includes hours spent trying and failing, and also having tons of fun in the process. Don't forget the WAF (Wife Appreciation Factor) which will determine how much fun you can have.

Last, i al documenting all my steps and proceedings while I run down my own selfhost rabbit hole in the above linked wiki (self hosted, ofc).

See you around, I guess!

At home i have a FWA over 5G (mobile) with 1Tb/month of traffic cap. That can be raised by 200Gb if needed. Cost 24€/month.

On mobile I have 150Gb capped 3G/4G/5G (whatever works) for 7.99€/month.

Not bad deals in comparison with what I read here.

I got an amazon fire stick, all the new ones support av1 and all android devices from A14 must support av1 too.

On PC vlc plays it just fine too.

Not me, i use and like a lot QtCreator... Granted, i work with C/C++ so... But its Open Source, cross-platform, has tons of integeations with analyzers debuggers and various tools.

Kdevelop never triggered my bells and CodeBlocks just doesnt feels right for me, but thats me.

For everyrhing else vim or kate depending on how i feel.

I believe you are using it wrong. I assume Linux ofc.

You need to poll/wait on it, and it is immediate and never loses one press if you use it properly.

Otherwise look into raw mode, you will need to change the input mode and will be able to read keypresses "as in videogames".

If you need I can point you to some code, bit since you didn't post any I assume you want to do it by yourself

You bake a cake and you roast meat or potatoes. I think its what you cook.

In my owen i cook both with the same heat mode, not from "top" or "bottom".
