A kind of Indian grill in Basel (Switzerland). It was rated 4.8 stars on google maps but I failed to notice that all the reviews were made by German/Swiss-German peoples (we come from the French and Italian parts of the country with a French and Italian food culture).

The hella expensive meat platter was undercooked and served with a ketchup and mayonnaise mix. Ketchup and mayo at an Indian place ! They also made us pay 2 francs for a glass of tap water when we had their most expensive dish and a bottle of wine. Fuck them, and fuck those tasteless German speaking reviewers.

All my worst food experiences happened in the German part of Switzerland so now I’m super cautious of what I eat when I travel there.

Et Memel en parlant en premier vient de mettre une pression de fdp. Le NFP est républicain et se retira dans les triangulaires où ils sont 3ème.

Et toi Macron ?

I am not sure what you’re working on but from your answers I’ve read you seems to need access to a lot of information with a few keystrokes, like searching for a keyword or tag.

In my opinion you are using the wrong tool for that. Ditch the browser and learn about the Zettelkasten way of working. It is really powerful for plenty of applications like science, studies, dev, or even the way I use it, author repository of ideas/concepts/stuff I need when writing a book.

You can do that with several software but I like obsidian for that (and because of all its plugins you could probably find something to automatically copy webpage content)

On the downside side :

  • You’ll have to learn Zettelkasten, Obsidian etc
  • Obviously do the work of writing (or copy pasting) your vault.

But on the plus size :

  • You’ll have all the information you need at your fingertips, searchable with keywords, tags, associations etc.
  • Everything is basic text MD files so it will still be readable by any text editor or terminal in the next century.
  • You can have images, run code, do some mathlib, jupyter etc inside.
  • Text is light, easy to store, backup and retrieve.
  • If you do good enough you can have a satisfying visual representation of your new brain, kinda mindmap (which is also possible)

45km/h e-scooter ?? Those things with tiny wheels where you stand on a small platform ?

They must have a death wish for that. 45km/h on a bicycle (electric or road bike) is already a bit too fast in most situations.

Between 35 and 38km/h is my perfect spot for riding in cities and is the usual speed on flat of a good road bike (not rode by a professional, those guys are crazy fast).

I think there is a Northern Europe country (ofc it’s Northern Europe…) where the limit isn’t 25 and 45 but 38.

If we had one unique class at 38km/h the world would be a better place.

Working shifts in the aviation industry and living in a city center that can be noisy, my best investment was sleeping earbuds named Bose sleepbuds (v2).

It’s just earbuds that you don’t feel and can sleep on your side without pain, they only play white noises.

Now I’m waiting for the Ozlo Sleep which are basically the v3 of the Bose sleepbuds.

Those things saved my sanity when working night shifts.

I’m not the audience for Mac gaming but I discovered that my "work dedicated" Mac mini M2 pro is an amazing machine for afk flying 14h flights on Xplane12. Specially during summer heat waves where the windows gaming rig is just a huge space heater.

So yeah I believe the target is people wanting only one rig to do everything but still use MacOS as a daily. Probably those with a MacBookPro M3-something. You could already do it with streaming, now with the M chips you can play AAA locally as well.

L'équipe ? The sport journal read by football circle jerkers ?

You probably meant Charly Hebdo.

And France is a though subject, it is historically a welcoming country for northern Africa and Muslim population (former protectorat or colonies, same language) but France partly failed mixing its population with the boom of huge ugly suburbs in the 60/70s. They ended up being poor class zone, that became foreigners zones, that became forgotten by politics leading to their population growing poorer and angry (with a right to be). Some of those were targeted by extremism advocate as they make a good place to cultivate anger and recruit new peoples.

So France is often a target because it is historically close to Muslim populations of Africa and often the final destination when migrating to Europe because it has good social security and no language barrier, unlike Italy, Greece or UK where you have to learn a new language. France is also still very present in Africa (language, industry, politics even money bills for some) so maybe if you ask a poor lost angry boy to name one Euro country, he will probably say France.

Then of course Charly drawing Muhammad or the gov forbidding religious clothes in schools was just another easy justification to attack the country.

I think they will. Steam keeps the money for something like 30 days before taking its cut, taxes etc and pays the devs.

So normally they still have all the not yet refunded money, they won’t lose anything except time and work force (so money yeah ok…)

Have you read the article ?

The bridge was destroyed since a decade but still on Google maps. There were no markings, no road blocks, nothing. It was 11pm in a pitch black country side road, the car was a jeep or something like that, aka not the best breaking action on the planet.

You know you are supposed to be able to stop on half the distance you can see ? But do you ?

So now pictures yourself driving in pitch black environment on a road so far up your mom’s ass there’s literally zero chance of seeing another car. It’s 11pm, you’re tired, eager to go home and your gps show you a straight line. On your lights beam you only see road, trees and darkness, you’re probably driving 50kph or more as you don’t feel the bumps on your huge murican style car.

Suddenly the road is darker and you see a huge gap (or maybe you missed it by a few seconds as you were changing radio station or checking your speedometer for half a second).

Add 1 or 2 seconds for your brain to react and you need at least 15 meters to stop, more if you’re driving faster.

Then also account that probably 85% of drivers are not pilots and they never brakes hard enough during an emergency (when they say to crush the brakes pedal with all your strength they mean it).

Result ? You’re probably dead, as well as most everyday drivers in the exact same situation, so here take your free Darwin Award 🥇 🤷🏻‍♂️
