I mean if you tend to plug things in at the same computer a lot it's pretty easy to always plug things in right the first time, even when not looking because you just kinda know what way it's meant to be. And laptops usually have all theirs pointing the same way so you know one you know them all. If something has text on it, it's usually oriented in such a way that when plugged in you can read it. Or they have a little face and you know which way the face is meant to be facing

I have a similar "power" and while I'm not flawless, it's only really new or unfamiliar devices/computers that trip me up. Or plugs that don't actually have any identifying features and/or unusual ones

You can put mad Infront of all the cunts that don't have adjectives already to make them even more extreme.

"This mad cunt" for when your mate's done something really out there while "mad dog cunt" is real fucking bad for example

It's probably got so much sugar in it because it's iced - the colder things are, the harder it is for you to taste the sugar in them

Ice cream has a lot of sugar in it - if you were to try and drink the base fresh off the stove, you'd be met with a tooth rottingly sweet custard. However once it's been brought down to -15° suddenly it's not only bearable it's nice

Also that's a big fucking cup. Like nearly a litre big. Who in their right mind is drinking that all by themselves?

Can you get chicken for 2 bucks? If you have eggs and rice already you can get some chicken and make up a cheat's oyakodon. Braise the chicken in some water, soy sauce, and a little sugar and/or an oxo cube if you have one, and then when the chicken's just cooked drizzle your eggs in and then slide onto rice. Also if you want to add veggies, slice up an onion and cook that in the sauce

(...I have no idea what food prices are like in the US 2 bucks would barely get you a can of beans where I live I think the only meal you could make under 2 dollars is "cup of straight cheap stock" or "one pizza bun")

Kinda cheeky I know but the instance I'm commenting from (sopuli.xyz) is a nice one imo. It's Finnish (so there's a similar "home" culture to here) and hosts the Ukraine war report communities so any instance trying hexbear's shenanigans gets defederated from super quickly without much drama just to avoid them from flooding the comments section with emojis and "lib cuck NATO should die" nonsense, but beyond that (and the other usual suspects) it's pretty open with who it federates with

Squid likes squids. Squids possesses many squids. Squids likes squids so much squids decide to use squids as namesake. Squids also like single word username because squids thinks having single word for username is bragging rights. Squids is wrong.

...are you trying to say that the wall falling and the dissolution of the USSR was a bad thing because of a few economic boons (in a graph that is rather suspiciously missing Berlin)?

Well gee whiz lemme go tell that to my German friends who's parents lived under the constant threat of the Stasi I'm sure they'll be overjoyed to know that the regime that ruined their family's lives was great and should be brought back just because they did marginally less colonialism than the first world. Oh and maybe I should also tell this to the Syrian refugees I know that actually Soviet colonisation was good because hey, at least it ain't Britian because they're capitalist

Also I dunno, maybe that highly sensationalised image as Stalin came about because he was a dictator who oversaw a genocide and cut people out of history and had a vicious cult of personality around him?

I wanted to go local and the closest instances were either Finnish or Danish and I went Finnish because I'd rather not accidentally order ten litres of milk every time I try to say something

Also this is where the fountain pen community originally was. They've since moved to wayfarer but honestly? I kinda like it here. Small instance and it's name isn't just Lemmy.somethingrather like most places are. I do one day want to host my own instance though, so I can have the pride of adding yet another thing to my domain's umbrella.

As an outsider (and someone with this name situation), I'm morbidly curious about what happens when a kid has a name that's the opposite gender as them, either because it's a gender neutral name in their culture, or because their parents just named them like that? Because I have a sneaking suspicion they're suddenly going to be fine with 'unapproved nicknames' when their alternative is calling a boy Vyvian or a girl Terrance

You can also like, dislocate your jaw. That works. Would not recommend doing unless you can already dislocate it on command though.

I see your blackwings and I raise you my mechanical contestant - the uniball kuru toga. The rotating lead gimmick actually works pretty well and the elite has just such a nice weight to it because the barrel is this nice knurled metal thing (I think the advance upgrade is also metal, but I don't have that one to compare)

Speaking of uniball, while I'm normally a fountain pen adherent, my go to non-fountain pen is the uniball eye. Such a surprisingly nice pen for the price, and while it's not exactly the same, because it's a liquid ink roller ball it's still much nicer to write with because you don't have to apply pressure to make it write.

It's also better for your hands if you do a lot of writing! You're not constantly applying pressure like you are with a ballpoint so your hands don't get as tired
