Is this correct?

Yeah, pretty much. I am not sure what you mean by it isn't the biggest democracy, it kinda is the biggest democracy, but people place way too much emphasis on it. People don't seem to have a mind of their own, they act in groups and are very tribal, so it's probably not the most effective democracy.

Probably most countries/cultures think this of themselves

being accepting of your own nationality is good, but I have a problem with people being too proud of shitty things. We are too ok with who we are as a country and that's not conducive to progress.

I mean, this isn't a very important piece of news for me, so, I am just looking at the consensus here.

I any case, have you tried putting a file reference, i.e. , into your .md file? I don’t think you can put an SVG directly into Markdown anyway (I may be wrong on that).

Thank you very much! this is what I did and it works.

[-] Subject6051@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

This is the solution, but I feel like this should not include the posts you have posted (at least not while you are browsing through your own profile) Thank you btw

I was just about to take to seriously and then I read your username :'(

[-] Subject6051@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

didn't the christians get that from a pagan ritual or something? Even muslims are guilty of things like this, I would go on to talk about this if I had someone incharge of my security lol

I also shoveled the older lady who lived next door’s sidewalk and porch the first time it snowed while I was there; she said she was gonna tell her son what I did, and then I never had to shovel another sidewalk for the next two years. Mine or elseways.

My English is not as good as yours. Can you explain this more (sorry)? The son was an italian, an influential man who made sure the sidewalks were shovelled?

All religions have it's own myths, own stories, own set of values. And these are/were good stories, I mean, even though they are not true, they are certainly interesting. You won't feel bored by it.

Harry Potter has the same effect on people, like, why should I take Harry Potter seriously, why do I care what happens after Dumbledore dances with Snape (won't give actual spoilers :')

I mean, it doesn't make sense to me. Why do I care so much about a soap opera that I am watching. Harry Potter is the product of just one brilliant woman's imagination. It has no real value on my life. I have no real motivation to read that other than the fact that I like it and I want to know. Harry Potter is somewhat irrelevant to my life, than why does it or any other good story capture our imagination?

Why do I care what the next season of House M.D. entails? Why? What should I care if he dies or lives? Why :')?

edit 2: thank you to everyone who replied.

edit: What type of leechers are acceptable and what kind are not acceptable according to you?

It's amazing how much I need others to validate my actions. I wish I could live guilt free without this. But, I can't, so here I am. Good people of lemmy, judge me

I don't have a lot of internet. I get like 1.5 GB of internet a dafy and it's 4G, not truly 4g, more like 0.2 mbps to 4mbps at max and I don't seed after I am done downloading my torrents. If I had greater amounts of Data, like limitless data or something like 2000GBs per month or something, I would constantly be seeding, but I don't. Are my actions morally justifiable? I feel guilty when that last seeder seeds me all I need and when someone needs another seeder, I turn off my seeding :(

I mean, I don't want to do it, but with the data I have, I can't afford to seed much, what should I do?

I might take some time to reply to you, I ain't abandoning the thread btw, is https://sh.itjust.works/ down? Just asking, I could not access it today

PS: I seed books and stuff like that. I mean, they are only like 1 or 2 mbs and I seed em when no one else is. But you know other stuff like extra legal videos series, soap operas etc etc are beyond me

where did you find over moderation? I have been over here for a while now and never found over moderation. Admittedly I am not active in any communities other than asklemmy and linux.

Apparently, I just had to give the full path /home/bob/miniconda3/bin/jupyter-notebook works perfectly! Thanks to @palordrolap@kbin.social for solving it for me.

note: which jupyter-notebook returned the address

(base) bob@bob:~
$ which jupyter-notebook
/home/bob/miniconda3/bin/jupyter-notebook

btw, this issue as old as time. Even Jesus had this problem while using Linux :(

Edit 2: I was wrong. It's using bash. I got a echo $SHELL and it was /bin/bash. but even though the jupyter-notebook path has been added to $PATH variable, it just won't execute.

Edit 1: I don't think keyboard shortcuts and menulibre don't use bash shell. After reading logs I realized that it was as if jupyter-notebook wasn't even installed when I am executing through shortcuts and menulibre. I have added the jupyter path variable to .bashrc, the only way this can not work is if the bloody thing isn't running on bash shell.

Terminal log when executed by terminal

Log when executed by a shortcut

/home/bob/jupyter_notebook_unofficial: line 6: jupyter: command not found

Demonstration

Firefox command work perfectly without any problem, but jupyter notebook command which works in terminal doesn't work on either keyboard shortcuts or on menulibre. The file has max permissions to run

Script Copy

#!/bin/bash
jupyter notebook
firefox http://localhost:8888/tree/Documents/Programs

What I have tried

  1. I have tried to run in terminal, not run in terminal on menulibre
  2. I have tried entering these commands in the command column

https://imgur.com/a/Ze2MUqW

 `./jupyter_notebook_unofficial`
    `./home/bob/jupyter_notebook_unofficial`
    `bash jupyter_notebook_unofficial`
    `bash ./jupyter_notebook_unofficial`
    `bash ./home/bob/jupyter_notebook_unofficial`
	`bash /home/bob/jupyter_notebook_unofficial`

I have also tried all this combinations with and without .sh at the end of the file name.

All of these would work on terminal but not as shortcuts or on menulibre.

To know what I am talking about, let me give you an example. I have this friend who went crazy over the vaccine issue. She's done so much research into it that I feel like I can't talk to her about her vaccine skepticism. Whenever I start to talk about something, she would drown me with a ton of articles and youtube videos and most of the times from the actual websites of UN health and stuff. It would have taken me a day to just go through that stuff. So I gave up on convincing her about vaccines. Might seem cruel but even I lost my certainty about vaccines after I met her. There's just too much to know and I don't completely trust the institutions either, but I do trust the institutions enough to vaccinate myself and my kids but not enough to you know, hold a debate about it with someone who has spent days researching this stuff.

You can take any topic which is divisive, which basically looms over the media all day and you can find a ton of articles to either support it or "debunk" it. I think 9/11 wasn't caused by Bush, I am almost certain, but I won't bet my house on it. I mean, this is almost a certainty, but yeah.

On other issues which are not this much of a certainty I fail to see how to convince a person who thinks something that they are wrong.

Stuff like earth is round or not, I can prove. But was the virus from Chinese market or from a lab, I can't.

Have aliens visited earth? I don't know. It would be wicked if we make first contact, but as awesome as this is, I am not motivated to search about this on the internet. I don't think I would search anything about the not so cool topics of life. I don't know enough to hold an informed debate about capitalism vs socialism or any other hot button issue for that moment.

What do you do in these situations?

I can sense that this is poorly written, but I hope you get the gist of what I am trying to say.

Edit: Everything seems too complicated, so I just went with this https://odysee.com/simplescreenrecorder-2023-09-03_11.02.17:a When you try to copy something, you copy something and then you paste it. This is fine, but I wish there was an app which would help me copy multiple items at different times and seamlessly help me paste it.

i.e., copy two things, press ctrl + v to paste the last thing you copied and press ctrl + shift + v to paste the last second thing you copied and so on.

I am pretty sure there are better ways to do this than what I am asking. So, I would be interested in those ways too.

you can’t only install kclipper that’s the app?
