Okay, my mistake, i misinterpreted it. To be fair with BBC, they point out in the title and article that this is just some transcript of someone anonymous, and they try to tie each allegation with reports from other sources to back up their likeliness. I guess it's the best you can do with someone anonymous ? Revealing the company, dates, or town might compromise the anonymity. I have this low-key uncomfortable feeling of "well, there's nothing that proves it" with most anonymous reports i read or hear, even when it's for events that are common otherwise.

I'm not backing the take itself, as other said it is widely extrapolation, but i don't really understand how the fact that cats meowing only/mostly at their mom and humans would invalidate the theory that humans and cats are the same category in cats' minds, since they use it for both cats and humans. It could indicate that they consider humans kinda like parents cats or just parents, maybe, but i don't see how it indicates that they could consider humans as non cats.

It does not seem like a bot to me, what makes you think of it ? And even if it was a bot, what makes you say that it is "cosplaying as an Arab" ?

Seems like a nice game, and i like that it's a "censorship deal" after the anti-NSFW itch.io had to make

The reviews say it may be glitchy and people seem very divided with wether they like it or not. Some piece of advice you may want to have before trying it : it seems its better not to start with Malik.

Wikipedia requires you to be "notable" according to their definition. Here are some of the criterias that may be used depending on the category. Theoretically, only one is enough, but you also needs reliable and independent sources to prove it.

As others have said, making dumb records is probably the easiest ways. If you're music people, starting an obscure/local variation of another genre could be a thing. Making a randomly specific movie can be another relatively easy way. Books can be a solution too, if you get a way to get people to talk about it.

Academics

  • Research having an impact (demonstrated by independent reliable sources)
  • Receiving an award/honor
  • Member of some scholar society with exclusivity
  • Having a major position in the university (like a named chair)
  • Being in the top members of an academic journal

Films

  • Being studied in detail by notable written sources
  • Widely distributed
  • Historically important (important reviews, elected in some professional poll, commercial re-release, part of a documentary on history of cinema, at least 5 years later)
  • Major award
  • Present in a national archive
  • Studied in details in university with film program
  • Represents a unique achievement (like "only cel-animated feature film ever made in Thailand")
  • Has a notable person involved in
  • Produced and distributed in a country that is not a major film producing country.

Music

  • Being studied in detail by notable written sources
  • Have a single/album on a national music chart
  • A record certified gold/higher or Win or be nominated for a major music award or win first, second, or third place in a major music competition.
  • 2 or more release on major record label
  • Ensemble/band with 2 or more notable musicians
  • Be the most prominent representatives of a notable style, or of a local scene of a city
  • Be placed in rotation on a national broadcasting
  • Perform music for a notable work of media

Books

  • Being studied in detail by notable written sources
  • Win a major literary award
  • be considered by reliable sources as a significant contribution to sciences, humanities, art, political or religious movement.
  • Has been subject of instruction in 2 or more schools/college/uni

People

  • Being studied in detail by notable written sources AND not being notable only for a single event
  • Have a well-known and significant award/honor
  • Have an entry in a standard biographical dictionary
  • Be widely cited by peers in your area of expertise
  • Having originated a significant new concept, theory or technique
  • Be a important criminal
  • Have multiple roles/involvements in notable works of art (TV/music/theater/etc)
  • Held international/national/province-wide offices or part of legislative bodies OR an important local political figure with significant press coverage
  • Get rewards as a sport people

(edit : layout and spelling mistakes)

For arts, !oil_paintings@makertube.net makes nice timelapses. !esk@rankett.net are a nice music duo.

For politics, !re_education_channel@kolektiva.media has relatively good content on anarchism.

For drinks, this dude publishes regularly nice cocktails recipes : !spoiler_diacres_domain@spectra.video

For tech, i second Veronica Explains, and i'll add !ctrlaltrees@makertube.net, great videos too on custom hardware and games.

For french speakers interested in news, there is also Le Média at !chaine_officielle@video.lemediatv.fr and Blast at !blast_info@video.blast-info.fr

Yup, but considering that you can "stack" up to 6 pixels, you can click every 3 minutes, and then go back to doing something else, so this could help make the whole thing a little more believable.

Which would make that moment around the 80s, when the Groenland population reach a relatively stable 50k and the US + CCCP warheads make a peak from 50k to 65k (excluding other nuclear arsenals)

People supporting their countries is not exactly radical.

Well from an anti-state perspective, supporting a country that commits radical acts such as monopoly of violence is by extension radical, but i think you meant that patriotism is widely spread, and that is relatively true, at least most people have patriotic "instincts" (even though in my experience, discussing and questioning their patriotism often reveals that they are patriotic by default and could have a different position if they reflected upon it).

it's very common everywhere but Lemmy because this place is filled with tankies.

I'd say tankies are also patriotic, just not for USA. Fatherland is a quite important concept in post-leninism forms of authoritarian communism. From my experience, it's much more common to find anti-patriotism in libertarian communism / anarchism than in despotic communism.

There are communities dedicated to music on Lemmy, though it won't be personalized recommendations, you can still find pretty cool artists. I also share music with friends : you share them one music you like, they send back a music of their own. At some points, a friend of mine organized a Discord server to create 5-songs playlists on a theme each week, which we listened to and vote for our favorite each week. It was a very cool way of discovering new bands !

You can technically do this in Lethal Company, but since there's no permanent way of communicating on long distances in game (you have to get items for this), it could be a bit frustrating at first. Maybe some mods enable it though.
