Poor naive child. Who do you think appoints the board of governors?
The dems seemed to think that running a shit female candidate against Trump would work.
Nobody wants neoliberalism but the Dems cannot grasp yet continue to push despite how much performative progressive politics they do.
It's what David Graeber described as "extreme centrism". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9afwZON8dU
One claimed he was so drunk he doesn't remember loading up his range rover, driving to the parking spot then carrying the equipment to the tree, cutting it down with precision not expected of someone blind drunk, carried all the kit back to the car, drive home then had a moment of clarity.
The other one said he's such a weak idiot that the other one led him astray
we're gonna end up with /r/sinkpissers. Lol
In all seriousness, you really don't want a mass exodus from Reddit to Lemmy instances. It's better that it's slowly so growth is managed but even more important, user quality is maintained!
When the Digg exodus happened, Reddit literally overnight went from a considered discussion board to full of ascii art, 1 line shit witty or pun comments, lyric threads and the signal to noise ratio went to shit.
On top of that there were constant stability issues that were compounded by all the thickos constantly hammering F5.
It's also an accessibility feature so people don't have to do the invariable up and down from kerbs into the road when using mobility aids or pushchairs with kids/shopping etc
One problem no one has mentioned, is that it also makes life a lot harder for homeless people.
But to those who organise those systems, they're not consumers with disposable income or a credit line to spend. They are happy for them to fall through the cracks and people not using cash penalises them further by eradicating charity and widening divisions.
It is functioning as designed.
I never experience that when cycling in Europe, only in the UK but then Europeans don't have that culture war bullshit of "the war on motorists" that's leaned into heavily by the right wing press.
I'm pretty sure that dropping a 2000lb bomb on a refugee camp is deliberate.
Western SM is already in the pocket of the state and any content that goes against their values is suppressed.
Pro-Palestinian content on Tiktok can easily get traction and receive over hundreds of thousands, if not millions of views.
Considering that younger people are not watching regular media news, channels like fox just do not have comparative reach and they aren't buying into the zionist propaganda like previous generations.
There are a lot of content creators who are articulate, succinct and organisation has come out of it. People have created sites & apps that list all corporations and products to boycott because of their support for Israel and it's had an impact.
Sure, TTs algorithm can easily push you down unpleasant rabbit holes but that's the nature of algorithms, not just specific to TT.
So there might be similar content on western SM but it's being held down and isn't showing on people feed 'organically'.
One of them was already jailed back in 2021 and the others were awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty

Testimonies coming out now paintt the attack in a different light:
Residents of the kibbutz said that Hamas fighters told them not to be afraid as they were there to fight the IDF, and they state they were not harmed by Hamas.
In fact, they state that the Israeli military fired so much and so indiscriminately that it is very likely the high number of casualties were down to them.
Footage emerging shows Apache helicopters absolutely obliterating everything at the festival and the photos of the damaged vehicles could not have been caused by the weaponry that the Hamad fighters were armed with.
More than half of the original figure of 1600 killed were IDF, with that total being revised down to 1200 with only 1 child under 5.
You've been fed bullshit by a military that has a long track record for lying though it's teeth and bought into them hook line & sinker
Unfortunately, there's too many people already doing that, with not so clever results!
If it increases accessibility for those with additional requirements then great but we know that's not even in its top 10 reasons for being implemented
