Poor naive child. Who do you think appoints the board of governors?

[-] Tangentism@lemmy.ml 9 points 2 months ago

Not quite.

Farage keeps running around saying "Pick me! Pick me!" and the press keep asking "Is farage a viable candidate?" while not offering the same credence to anyone else.

The British public are "We're fucking sick of this bollocks from the establishment" and a lot of them are falling for the privately educated ex city trader Farages nonsense that he's a "man of the people" because all the centrist parties are saying "aren't immigrants awful?" in an attempt to distract from their own incompetence and quite frankly, the left is 10 years behind in offering a coherent alternative to all the bullshit.

The dems seemed to think that running a shit female candidate against Trump would work.

Nobody wants neoliberalism but the Dems cannot grasp yet continue to push despite how much performative progressive politics they do.

It's what David Graeber described as "extreme centrism". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9afwZON8dU

One claimed he was so drunk he doesn't remember loading up his range rover, driving to the parking spot then carrying the equipment to the tree, cutting it down with precision not expected of someone blind drunk, carried all the kit back to the car, drive home then had a moment of clarity.

The other one said he's such a weak idiot that the other one led him astray

we're gonna end up with /r/sinkpissers. Lol

In all seriousness, you really don't want a mass exodus from Reddit to Lemmy instances. It's better that it's slowly so growth is managed but even more important, user quality is maintained!

When the Digg exodus happened, Reddit literally overnight went from a considered discussion board to full of ascii art, 1 line shit witty or pun comments, lyric threads and the signal to noise ratio went to shit.

On top of that there were constant stability issues that were compounded by all the thickos constantly hammering F5.

What an amazing coincidence that number matches the minerals deal that trump was offering them!

You're already in a fascist state that is participating and funding genocide, aiding and abetting multiple conflicts around the world and using your tax dollars and silent complicity to do it.

Wake the fuck up, you're already dead!

Trying to plead with corporatists to reform is wasting your breath as they will offer empty promises to do something after your support is required then inevitably do fuck all afterwards, saying either they need to get so many other things done or they'll look at your concerns at the next election cycle/when they need your support.

Also when corporatists realise their coercion has failed, they will immediately use violence to obtain your complicit obedience.

Instead of "reds under the bed", it's "there's a bogeyman at the door"

It's also an accessibility feature so people don't have to do the invariable up and down from kerbs into the road when using mobility aids or pushchairs with kids/shopping etc

This is a UK newspaper that rotates headlines about latest thing that causes cancer, immigrants ruining the UK and what would the wonderful dead princess Diana think.

If you used the print edition to wipe your arse, you'd end up with more shit on you.

One of them was already jailed back in 2021 and the others were awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty
