Nothing, no more holidays, they’re all cancelled 😤
Is it your first time doing psychedelics? Personally I wouldn’t. The first time I took shrooms was amazing, but I also went absolutely wild, screaming in the streets, at one point I actually ran away from my friends and got lost in the woods, threw a bunch of almonds around my friend’s house and then was running in circles around his house. I sorta lost it. Which was fun though, but I’m glad I had people there, they were saints and put up with all my shit, but you don’t know how you’ll react and I think it’s good to have people there. I’ve also trip sat for people who absolutely needed it. It’s also good if you end up in a loop or a bad trip they can help talk you down.
Although as you say you only have people irl you don’t really trust. This could be worse than having nobody since that distrust could really come out in the shrooms and lead to a bad trip.
We used to buy them on the Silk Road (which is illegal). But once that shut down, we discovered you could have magic truffles (which contain the same active ingredient, psilocybin) shipped from the Netherlands into the USA. We had a P.O. Box at our local post office already (which we had used for Silk Road) and we would order them there. I’m not actually sure if that was legal, or some weird legal loophole, or what, but it worked. This was around 2013/2014 however and I’m not sure if this is still possible. Last time I checked the old site I used to order from doesn’t allow this anymore. Maybe other ones do? Idk
Edit: yeah a lot of people making a good point here, a lot of sober people will trip sit and decide to do the “haha this guy is on drugs” thing which is always a put off. A trip sitter needs to be respectful of the experience.
I’m not going to read through all my comrades’ responses since I pretty much know what they’re gonna say, I just hope no one is attacking you because this is a legitimate question to ask and seems in good faith.
I think it’s more accurate, and might be easier to understand our position, if you think of the Russia-Ukraine war as more of a Russia-US proxy war which, unfortunately, a lot of Ukrainians are now stuck in the middle of. Most folks on hexbear are not pro-Russia, but because in this conflict (and at this point of history) Russia represents multipolarity as opposed to US, western hegemony, many of us have taken up pro-Russia positions to varying degrees.
Another point is that the war could really be said to have begun in 2014, or at least that’s when the lead up to this conflict began. And so from 2014 until now Ukraine has just been a pawn, with western governments using it to erode Russian influence. I think many of us see the us as ultimately hoping to make Russia a us vassal state along with the rest of Europe. So Ukraine has really just become this geopolitical chess piece in a great power war. Of course Russia using the region as a geopolitical pawn to further their interests is also not great, but because Russia in this instance is doing so as part of the drive for greater multipolarity and to chip away at US domination, and really when you get down to it as a defensive measure against US expansion, we tend to take that side.
Although I think saying we take Russia’s side is a bit disingenuous since, when you get through all the Ukrainian Nazi jokes, there is the acknowledgement that a lot of people are now caught in the middle of this great power conflict. However we don’t squarely put the blame on Russia for that, and Russia’s goals - multipolarity, the chipping away of US hegemony - broadly line up with ours, and also countries which we do support, eg. China, Cuba, Venezuela, have taken up this position.
Oh yeah I think you’re right. Don’t know Illinois too well, was just looking at a map trying to figure out what that was. It seems like there are a couple college towns on there which is interesting but I guess makes sense
I wasn’t saying it should be about men. “Women in 20s and 30s more likely to die than any generation since wwii” surprised me since usually men have the worst life expectancy prospects. A quick reading didn’t clear up for me if this was any generation, or any generation [of women]. Though as someone pointed out I missed where they said the report is only dealing with women.
