squirreled

It's the longest one-syllable word last time I checked. Pretty ridiculous that it is one syllable honestly.

For fun, we just tried to kill the guy in the image. He's supposed to be one of the most powerful wizards in the entire world or something. Surprisingly, we succeeded. It was only his simulacrum. The attention to detail in this game is amazing.

Star Trek. I'm in Deep Space 9. I've never seen anything (except for the Abrams' travesties) that came after Voyager, so I'm pretty excited to eventually give the newer stuff a go.

Yeah, and you know it was Rom cleaning out the filters or whatever.

Stardew Valley is getting there for me. I usually burn out on a game at 80 hours, or whenever the credits roll and there's no more fun content to pursue. I'm creeping up on 200 hours in SDV, and I often feel like I'm playing it because I have to harvest those blueberries to make mad cash to get that 10M clock that prevents decay on my farm. It's starting to feel like a job, but then, I still fire it up when I'm looking for something to play because it's just comfortable and easy to get into the groove. I think I really need to give it a break, but I just keep coming back.

Peter Watts' Blindsight for the second time. It's pretty dense. I'm catching more this time around. It's a fantastic read with some of the most alien aliens ever put to page. It was a meme how often it used to get recommended back on r/printsf which I miss a lot since its replacement here is essentially dead.

Sounds better than my method of having the first ten-fifteen years of collecting arranged neatly by artist names in folders labeled alphabetically followed by a few different folders labeled by the year I downloaded (not the year of release), a few genre folders, and a a few, uhh, folders sorted by how I acquired the music torrented or through Soulseekqt. Yeah, mine is a complete mess. Pulsar player for Android makes it incredibly easy to sort through stuff anyway. I did conveniently fail to put a lot of the stuff I rarely listen to on my current phone anyway. I'm not too egregiously awful. I do at least listen to everything I download at least once or twice. I had a friend in the 00s who just downloaded everything whether he listened or not. Yeah, I'll keep comparing myself to his 20+ year old standard of digital hording.

I kinda wish I'd lost mine once or twice.

Tametsi

Tametsi just barely eked out being my most played game of 2023 over, duh duh duh!! Elden Ring. Yes, it took me longer to finish a $1 Minesweeper clone than to finish a massive Fromsoft Soulslike. Haha!

I've seen the first two. I can't bring myself to watch the last one.

Razors

Definitely! I used to chase the largest number of blades. Mach 3, then Fusion. And then noticed that it was getting a bit insane paying $30 for a pack of four replacement heads. About ten years ago, I noticed a resurgence in double edged safety razor popularity. Bought a $50 Edwin Jaggar handle (which they replaced with a sturdier version for free when I broke it!), and have been picking up my Dorco blades $10 for 100 since. The shave is just as good, if not better, and getting straight lines is actually much easier. I feel like if more people knew, Gillette would just go out of business.

I loved my Dualsense too, and then the left stick started drifting so badly, it's completely unusable now. It's only about a year old, too. I blame Sekiro. Both my DS4s still work fine though, and they've seen much more use and abuse.
