I have a client who helps their personal out way more than they should. Even paying them extra so they can pay their tax debt. Not that some of his employees deserve it, heck the one he paid the tax debt for is even leaving the company after this all happened.
Corporate bosses suck, small company bosses can be pretty decent depending on the type of company and how much money is being made. These are the companies that generally don't have a HR deparment or a C level employee.
Regarding the payment info is why we need to have companies be more transparent all over the world. In NL it is already mandatory for companies to post some form of an annual report (sometimes very basic) and you can buy them for like 8 euro's or something. That way you can check those and see if how the company is doing in broad lines. If you notice that on their last annual report there iare red flags you can ask about that in your interview or just straith up deny working there since there is a risk they will miss payments.
I have been using Discord since the beginning in 2015 and back then I got people to Discord because it was cheap and offered more features. Currently the only way I convince people to swtich from Discord (or from Whatsapp) is either if they are privacy focussed or the alternative is way more convient or cheaper.

Part of the issue is that we are mostly stuck in an economic structure that cannot continue forever unless everybody partakes. Getting more wages every year, getting more revenue and profit every year, just doesn't work for eternity. In theory, if everybody got their 2%$ wage increases and interest was just 2% a year (excluding promotions or corrections for pas years etc) it would be fine.
The circular economy theory is one of those theories that attempts to fix that AND also work on helping the repair, reuse, recycle movement.

If you have a 10 year old Linux intall you wouldn't want that to go away either. That has nothing to do with the OS.
Stop being so "aggressive" against people's and let them have their own opinion. It is not helping to get others to get to Linux. What does help is to show people how it can be done.
I am inclided to agree with you that Andy Yen is just an idiot and that Proton is doing it's best to stay natural and make the most of the situation. However their communications team is pretty lackluster.
On another note, the article I linked is an opinion, so while it is laid out pretty well it is probably not telling the entire story. I have a custom domain on my Proton account so I can Switch if it ever goes to hell. I would advice you to do the same.
The whole 88 thing is not generally know except probably in Germany and the US.
He is an idiot yes, but the internet is also making it seem like if you agree with one statement you agree with all statements of that person/party which is just wrong.
Always use your own domain on Proton and others. The laws in Germany aren’t as friendly as the one in Swiss so that can be causing issues as well.
