I saw a crazy Instagram video where the citizens are upset they are only trying to clean up the river for the Olympics not for the people that live there. They were trying to start a viral campaign to have everyone Sh8t in the river after the clean up is done.

It's been said the pain of the bamboozle is too much for most to acknowledge so they continue to double down on it. The great grifters and conmen know this and use it to their advantage.

Many think it's only the stupid and uneducated that are taken in by these scams. At times it's the tribal nature that we can get caught up in.

Often the educated are worse off as they know better and the grave injury to their egos won't allow them to announce to others they have fallen victim as it's pretty embarrassing. They take their lumps and move on with their lives if they do recognize they have fallen into these traps.

It's going to be many years before we get to the other side and then I wonder if it will be like what the Spanish referred to as the Miracle that occurred when Franco died.

After decades in power, the citizens that fought for Franco and supported him ceased to exist. When asked everyone fought against Franco in the civil war and they secretly fought against him at every level of society, government, and the military. It was miracle how he came to power and won a war with no support from anyone at any level within Spain.

If we ever get past the identity association of team Orange it will be interesting who is found to still be supporting this current day madness especially among the religious groups that support a man that displays so many of the things many of the regular members would be chastised for...

Sure seems like a great way to avoid severance in those places it's required.

Amazing how the companies that "care about employees" don't care so much these days...

I recall some pretty bold statements being made that Apple couldn't stop this reverse engineering from working ever in the early days of tech reporting on this.

Even as a Android user I thought this was pretty bold claims to make as this whole walled garden is a big part of the Apple brand and they will need to protect this as they really don't have leading software inovation and they are no longer ahead on tech advances or specs that made the first couple of iPhones ground breaking.

Since they are a couple to a few years behind the Android features and specs, they need to protect the special brand identity above all else so I expected them to tweak things to break anything they don't want to have happen to their systems.

I can't blame them at all from a business prospective. While I don't like or enjoy their products, they had built a great brand that sells itself for those that "want to be different" but actually the same as all of their friends.

Unfortunately there's a segment of Canadians that have been exposed to the same brain rot social media as our Southern Cousins that would very much like to see Trump in power even in our country.

They often confuse American rights/amendments with Canadian and think they are interchangeable between the countries.

It's a shame as we use to be proud of what made us same but also different. It's an amazing lesson on the powers of social media and it shows how far behind we are compared to the Russians and the Chinese who are using it to their advantage within our countries. It's child's play for them now...

There's a motion being proposed to make Trump give up the ~~$8+~~ *7.8 million in foreign donations he illegally accepted while in office.

On another episode, the show welcomed blacklisted folk singer Pete Seeger — he’d been banned from television for years. He sang his “Waist Deep in the Big Muddy,” a song widely understood to ridicule President Lyndon Johnson for the Vietnam War. CBS refused to air the segment, but Tom and Dick brought Seeger back and he sang it again, this time making the air. Segments like these, along with others poking fun at religion, racism and the establishment, led to CBS giving the brothers the ax.

The song started out with clips from other US war protest songs going back to the 1800s: https://youtu.be/qHETC5qAnqo?si=7OIaA0nxsy3h0rlH

I wish I had this password request when first trying out DOS commands on my first PC. I came across a book of Dos commands and was playing with FDISK. Wiped out the drive in the process. Learned Dos and windows pretty quickly after as it was a computer my mother in law gave us.

It went from Dos 5 with a shell to Dos 6.22 with Windows 3.11 once I went to the library and learned about them. Yes library, I'm that old.

The EU would like to have a talk with manufacturers about this... Much like USB C for iPhones, removable batteries are in the works again thanks to the EU.
