Had not seen the vid
Just had a conversation with my partner on this, she's on the basic package (UK) and not prepared to accept the next price jump (the hike plus the need to upgrade the package).
Plenty of options to find Netflix content elsewhere, her concern is losing the ability to scroll through Netflix and find something she'd otherwise not see.
Any advice for conviniantly seeing what's on Netflix on her phone, without going to Netflix?
Instapaper? Is this some new magic I've not heard of?
You're going to hear a lot of people saying how straight forward Windows is install; I'm avoiding W11 so have my W10 anecdote.
The only way I've ever been able to install W10 is to disconnect every single peripheral except m/kb and one single drive.
Anything else over the years, be it different mobos, HDD,SSD m.2 thingies it's always been the same; anything more than m/kb and one single disk W10 shits the bed.
If you're still struggling, try that.
Rarely watch live tv now, between the adverts and reality/game shows there's barely anything of worth to watch.
What little there is, I'll record on the youview box then watch at my convinience and zip though the ads.
I've basically got no interest in what the stations want to produce.
Very very very little indication they would be better, and I'm very left of center in politics.
Starmer is very suss as far as I'm concerned, I'm not at all comfortable with his purges...if he gets in, we'll see.
All good choices, but seeing no love for KDE Connect?
Yup same here. Two profiles, one is my daily driver and open source, they other is for the few apps I need with Google services. This is the perfect compromise between what I want, and what I need.
I'll admit it, didn't pay attention to the group, spent the last minute looking for a bee on a stick.
Lovely cat. Disappointed in me. Sad no bee on stick.
Online ads, same here.
Was a small thing, I was vaguely aware of online ads but only at a high level.
Was browsing online for garden sheds then turned the laptop off. Came back in the evening and every single site was pushing ads for gardens sheds.
Did some research and 7 years later, de-googled phone, all social media long since closed, linux (mostly), VPN etc etc.
Not going to pretend I can do anything against state actors (CIA, GCHQ) , my threat actors are businesses, Meta, Amazon, Googlr etc.
Can't beat them all, but I can make my data exepensive to them at least.
The last two for fuck sake; after that list what the hell is, or how does Fuckerburg, define 'sensitive data'?
'People' won't react to this until they are hit with a real and tangible consequence:
'sorry, based on the heath data you gave to Meta we're doubling your insurance premiums'
I never get tired of this one, though my favorite has one more frame with Aragorn further off into the distance before Leglass' comment.
