"Many people are saying we are the third super power, many people, so many people in fact i can't even name them. Im sure youve heard it too."

What if instead of trying to be cutting edge and shit you look backwards. Do something with mechanical computing. Maybe think up a way it could still be useful in the modern era. Like in high radiation environments where electronic computers break down too quickly for example. I wonder if you could design a mechanical computer that could operate indefinitely in an environment like chernobyl, and power itself via the ambient radiation in the area? That could be cool.

Disclaimer: i am not a computer engineer in the slightest, and didn't even have a classical education so im not 100% sure what a dissertation is.

Well i was just thinking about it from like the vibes. Like both bases of support would be freaking out. America would probably have massive civil unrest or something before congress even got to weigh in.

Also its very much overshadowed by the support for genocide but the US is very clearly gearing up to start mass slaughter of climate refugees from latin america on the southern border and both parties are manufacturing consent for it.

The way both parties are for deportation and militarizing the border. Its very clear that the real power players in the US know that climate refugees will be a big problem in the next decade and want to just lock it down and kill anyone who tries to cross. So not only are they supporting 1 genocide but theyre gearing up to do another. And all these libs are all for it. Its disgusting.

America was never a good country to be clear but its still so Ironic that the nation that has the Statue of Liberty in it is this anti-immigrant.

This is the full poem. Imagine if America actually had values like this and didnt just pretend to.

"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame. 'Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!' cries she With silent lips. 'Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!'"

Edited for clarity

Why do this on a raspberry pi and not just boot a live usb on his normal computer, or on a small partition?

[-] Xiisadaddy@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 4 months ago

Maybe im a dumbass, but im currently using an entire operating system that is community funded, and made. How is it that its possible to do it with linux, and all the things that go with linux, but a web browser can't do it without getting into ads? Why are web browsers so special that they just need oogles and oogles of money to function?

The way things are going these days i think there will be much more... creative, solutions. Just off the top of my head.

Privateering coming back in the arctic, and pacific.

Using environmental concerns to pass a UN resolution putting major restrictions on what can be shipped through it.

"Accidentally" crashing a nuclear powered sub and having its reactor melt down up there so a choke point is unusable forcing ships to go through NATO waters to bypass radiation.

Doing "military exercises" in the Bering Strait constantly.

False claims of Russian/Chinese boats entering US Alaskan waters constantly, and disputing the maritime boundaries constantly changing where they claim the line is to confuse captains. Firing warning shots at any ships that cross the line that they move every morning.

Plus this doesnt even take into account that the US is working to create a maritime exclusion zone around Chinas entire coast.

This will work for now, but the end goal needs to be a huge railway project connecting Russia and China over land deep within their territory where its safe from any attack. High speed cargo trains running from the Chinese coast up into Russia all the way to Moscow would be an economic game changer.

The US is the common enemy. Your just looking at it from the other side.
