I wonder if they could use firefox sync
i imagine it'd be more work as it's not pre-built, but samsung internet does it so maybe mozilla are a little more lax with who uses their services

it's been here over three months now!
(also if you like this sort of stuff, you might like some others in the network)
i feel like indoctrinated is not the word you were looking for there?
inducted?
i know. but i specifically looked up the u.s. copyright period as a reference to the mickey mouse act, and a century was a nice round number for the surrealism of this lemmysphere
yeah you're right, but i'm not (just) being funny when i said that - lemmy.world had only just started when i joined (10 days), still had the old (much nicer) icon and no banner, etc. it had 188 users / month, compared to .ml's (at the time) 1.8k and lemm.ee's (current, according to the above infographic) 3.7k...
i can understand where they're coming from
if your instance was called lemmy.freds.com, and your goal was to create an instance purely for people called fred to use; it would be understandable to remove people who claimed to be called fred, and then it turns out they actually aren't
now i don't know what instance this is, but say it's lemmy.dbzer0.com - if a user is going around decrying piracy, or reporting copyright infringement on lemmy to authorities; i think it would be reasonable to remove them
^(i don't know why i'm plugging tywele's subs and not my own, but)^ if you like that you may also like !imaginarymerfolk@lemmy.dbzer0.com
yeah... i certainly won't be using it
it's a shame, as it has some nice features that no other client has; but the privacy policy is just incredible
Thing is… if I have to do that for every time someone linkdrops an article, I’ll have no time left in my day.
if you spent less time writing comments about articles you haven't read, you might have more time. do you do this in other walks of life? wander into restaurants you've never eaten at and announce "i don't think there's really any reason to order the fish"?
And it seems I was right that I have no real reason to use tor.
okay, i'll sum the article up for you. the more people that use tor, the more it protects vulnerable people. journalists writing exposés about corrupt governments, refugees trying to flee, etc. the more normal people using tor, the more they get lost in the crowd. it's nothing to do with whether you have any reason to use tor, that's irrelevant. by using it, you're helping those in vulnerable positions. happy? now go write something inciteful
my dude, i haven't booted into windows in ages. but that proves my exact point: it might save one time if ones workflow involves a lot of tasks that can be scripted. if ones workflow is "launch photoshop; browse the web for inspiration; draw for a bit; close photoshop.", it won't save any time. especially due to the hassle of getting photoshop working, or learning a new app like gimp or krita.
d'you know what, i have no idea
i don't recognise it, but i could just not have been paying attention
