please don't!! linux repository people don't do that please!! firefox is still awesome and, i haven't really read the change the firefox foundation has made, but i really hope this does not mean it will stop existing on linux. will debian replace it with waterweasel?

i still like firefox and i'm content it's still open source at least!!!

my lover is a very high iq person (140) and he's so awesome and yea has a lot of knowlegde about a lot of things, but recently i took an iq test and i got 85, it sucks, i told him that i hope that does not affect any aspect of our relationship!! and i'm not going to sugar code it but honestly i think that difference does cause a bit of trouble in our relationship because i am aware that my low iq may cause problems or it could make him feel annoyed/bothered!! what can i do to improve that?? i love him so much and i don't want him to feel like i don't understand him, sometiems i don't a lot but, i always understand the general idea of the stuff he likes and i'm always seeking out more knowledge from him and the wider internet. thank you!!!

edit: i've always thought i was 100 or 150+ iq because i am interested in open source software, linux, foss, gnu, the fediverse, and reading, etc!! programming too

i'm not angry at social media or anything!! i just really want my own space in the web for expressing myself and for posting all my art and programming snippets. i could potentially build a website and use github to host it, is that good?? even if it's not a known website, i still would like it. again, i am not mad or sad with social media but.. i think some of it is taking a lot of my time!! i'm going to be honest tho, on my reddit account i just got to 1k karma!! because i've posted art and memes people have upvoted! but oh well, thank you

if the 90's were defined by classic retro videogames with pixel and "old" graphics, then why was music and images so high quality?? for example, in 1995 radiohead released "the bends", a cool album!! but it doesn't sound like it was made in 1995, because in 1995 videogames were pixelated and had blurry graphics, shouldn't it have been that way too?? if technology was that way in 1995?? why does that album sound so high quality and modern if it was made around the same time old retro games were made?? thank you!?

i know but this picture is just fanart, nothing else. if i were to use it on a personal project tho, i would save it as an svg file too! (which i do for my personal logo)

the first way is exactly what i do but on gimp! thank you. whenever i duplicate objects (text) on inkscape, i have to turn them to paths before changing anything

[-] adrianhooves@lemmy.today 4 points 5 days ago

nop no! but i should keep remaking linux logos on my style hmmm

[-] adrianhooves@lemmy.today 3 points 5 days ago

because of the shadows!! i still have no idea how to generate shadows on inkscape

[-] adrianhooves@lemmy.today 3 points 5 days ago

all the letters and shadows and outlines were made on gimp. the only thing made on inkscape was the mouse, yea! while it's possible to draw stuff like that on gimp, i think it's easier to do it on dedicated software (inkscape!). thank you

when other graphic designers say "gimp is not good" or "inkscape is not professional", or say bad things about linux, i have to show them that even linux can be awesome!!!

i was browsing youtube and i saw a video of a guy recording a short house tour of a house in an asian country, and in one of the rooms, he says, "this is a western style room". so it got me wondering, if a western style room is a room that is inspired on western architecture but it was made in a country that is not part of the west, would that mean that a modern house in mexico is "western style"?? are all houses in mexico "western style"?? because people say it's not the west but their architecture is spanish and european and stuff like that but since people and wikipedia say they're not western.. that would mean western style?? thank you!!!!

please hear me out fediverse!! this new service of the fediverse could be called "kniknak" and it could be similar to tiktok in the sense that it shows you short videos and comments and etc, but the main differences are the following: 1. connected threads of the whole fediverse, even regular posts on mastodon could become a short video 2. open source, decentralized, of course 3. comments are shown as threads instead of a regular comment section since it's connected to the fediverse. also i can remake the logo on inkscape and it would look even better, that'd be so awesome

usually when it comes to graphic design work (i'm an open source graphic designer and mayhaps even programmer but) i use inkscape of course, and gimp totally. i've gotten very good and learned so many stuff, but something i enjoy about inkscape and gimp is the fact that they still use ctrl-z for undoing and ctrl-y for doing again!!! that's classic and very linux-like and is pretty much the software saying "we will NOT accommodate our keyboard shortcuts to make our software feel LIKE adobe products", because adobe and all proprietary graphic design software uses ctrl-z and ctrl-shit-z for undoing and doing, but linux prevails and keeps ctrl-y.

when i was drawing a bit of stuff in krita, i found out that the shortcut for undoing was ctrl-shift-z, i know why this was made, because they want to accommodate the adobe people, the ones that like windows and proprietary software, they want to appeal to proprietary companies, that shortcut showed me that. and that is why i feel like krita is trying to be an open source software dressed as a proprietary software.

it's like when that american german spy asked for 3 glasses of liquid but held his fingers in the "not german" way.
