Another student-made game that's completely free. This one is also compatible with Mac. Not much in the way of features, but I figure many of you would love the premise.

So far, good reviews. The graphics and sound seem well done. Not much on features and the game is short, but the introductory price is C$2.20.

This is the sequel to Street Cleaner: The Video Game (there is not Street Cleaner 2), and the original game got great reviews. So far, the reviews have been just as positive.

This has 16-bit style graphics and a killer soundtrack. Also, there's full gamepad support for both Xbox and DualShock controllers.

The introductory price is C$18.71.

I don't know. What's Synty?

Only two reviews for this one but both are positive.

Looks like a fun action RPG with low poly visuals. Full gamepad support. Current introductory price is C$9.44.

This one slightly reminds me of Breath of the Wild.

This is a souls-like FPS with 90s low-poly visuals. It has gamepad support. Currently, there are few reviews but they are all positive. With an introductory price of C$6.23, this is quite inexpensive.

Looks like a fun puzzle game with a unique premise and aesthetic. It also has full gamepad support. Only one review right now, but a demo is available. Currently priced at C$12.99.

A psychological horror game. Not much in the way of features, but it has mostly good reviews and it's inexpensive.

I have no idea if this is good but it's clearly made, with love, by a solo indie developer. You can play couch co-op and this has gamepad support for Xbox and DualShock controllers. There's something bizarre about the retro visuals that seems charming to me. Reasonably cheap, and this has Mac compatibility.

This is a re-release of Ninja Five-O, a Game Boy Advance game that had never been released onto another platform until now. Originally developed by Hudson Soft, it's been ported to PC by Limited Run Games. In terms of graphics, it mostly preserves the original, keeping things at a 4:3 aspect ratio. Fittingly, this also has full gamepad support.

Personally, I think the price is a little too high, but if you're a fan of this game, it's now on Steam.

A re-release of a 1998 helicopter sim that's still PC exclusive. Back in the day, it got good reviews. Some people will hate that this is no longer abandonware, but others will love that they can buy this legally for cheap. And it is cheap right now with an introductory price of C$5.84.

The graphics are preserved in glorious 4:3 aspect ratio. And this very much looks like a 90s PC game.

I've created four new #Piefed photo-based communities. They are:

  1. !recordpics@piefed.social
  2. !dustbloom@piefed.social
  3. !lumoura@piefed.social
  4. !blue@piefed.social

I'll mostly be using these communities to post photos from #Akkoma and #Pixelfed. Not only will they categorize these photos in a coherent manner, they'll be open for other contributors, and also be easy to moderate.

Why not use hashtags instead? Simple: anyone can use a hashtag and no one can moderate them. Which means they're easy to spam.

For my purposes, groups are simply better.

Around two years ago, I created @fediversenews@venera.social -- which proved to be one of the most popular Friendica groups ever. Unfortunately, I had difficulty moderating that group and so I decreased my posting there. However, I saw that Piefed has a much more advanced moderation toolkit, so I'm migrating that community over there.

If you still follow @fediversenews@venera.social, be sure to follow !fediversenews@piefed.social -- since that Friendica group will be shut down soon.
