It’s a replacement for grep, which searches the content of text files for a regular expression.

Ripgrep is very fast. If you use grep, it’s an easy drop-in.

My question is: can it be turned off?

Mozilla has been trying to get me to look at news or use Pocket for years now, but it’s easy to turn off.

Edit to add: my above reference to turn off two different settings I’ve turned off for years now seemed obvious to me that I assumed it could be turned off.

Lot of people didn’t read past the first sentence.

Oooh this is lemmy.ml. Fuck gross bye

This was funny because I went back to see if the review I just read was Sticky Mustache, and it was actually pruwyben!

Oh, that’s just a risky proposition, that’s all!

I would wager most people don’t know themselves well enough on psychedelics to trust watching weird shit with someone who is also on psychedelics.

To give a sense of “past the peak,” a lot of people put the “peak years” of the Simpsons ending prior to season 9.

Who Shot Mr. Burns is in season 6. The conclusion was the first episode of season 7.

I extend the tail of the “peak” a little further because I like episodes like “Pygmoelian” and “Kill the Alligator and Run” in season 11.

…The first movie was released around season 18.

When I saw the movie I found it a pleasant return to the funniness of previous seasons.

LG released a new version of its Magic Remote in January with a particularly limited button selection that is likely to confuse or frustrate newcomers. In addition to not having keys for individual numbers, there are no buttons for switching inputs, play/pause, or fast forward/rewind.

One of the major features of this “EasyTV” is a remote with more buttons on it, because they removed most of them on the “Magic” remote.

The rest of it seems like a pathetic attempt to enter a market they don’t really care about.

To create the Easy TV, LG said it took its LG QNED Evo (QNED85A) and adjusted it to make the picture brighter and more color-saturated, and boosted audio for dialogue.

You can also have it remind you to take medication, and apparently there’s a video calling feature.

I have been subscribing to this for ~~three~~ five months now and I love it! I elected the vintage magazine subscription (I think there are a couple options)

The magazines come bagged, boarded, and sealed with a certificate inside.

I’ve gotten three issues from the mid-to-late 1990s and one Electronic Games, October 1982! My fifth magazine will be in the mail soon.

Here’s what I’ve gotten, if anyone is curious:
Ultra Game Players, January 1997
Ultra Game Players, holiday 1997
GamePro, October 1995
Electronic Games, October 1982

Hard Rock Cafes can sometimes be kind of hidden gems, surprisingly. But they are quite pricey because of the brand and memorabilia.

They are owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida since 2018, which I find notable.

This actually blew my mind, I was like “no way are there any pandas in the world not owned by China!” but I was wrong. lol

I too have owned a fractal case and I really liked it! I eventually got rid of it because I moved cross-country and I didn’t have an immediate need for it.
