They got a whiff that you might not dedicate your entire life to hating the same people they do

It's all being fished out of the same Chinese landfill regardless

I don't touch it either for two reasons that go together.

  1. It's a pig sty before I even get there.
  2. Nothing in there will ever be included in backups for that reason.

My cloud drive has SO much random flstudio crap in it. That's the worst program in the world when it comes to that. If you install their program they think they own your hard drive.

Also while I'm bitching about windows folders, why did they make it so weird to get to your home folder? It feels like we aren't supposed to know it exists anymore.

What are these awful web sites?

It sucked before too. Certain types of notification were only viewable in the app. If you had one, it would give you an orange envelope on the mobile site, but nothing new could be seen inside. And it wouldn't even tell you what's happening so I just wrote off the entire notification system as broken. So if I got a reply on Reddit I wouldn't know because there's no indication. I still won't ever install the app and I'm now less likely to do so because I hate push notifications.

Thanks for the community recommendations, they seem like great points to explore from. I also love Linux and tech in general, otherwise I probably wouldn't be here. But I have other interests too. That's something I find to be decent about tildes surprisingly, considering you need to be a massive tech nerd just to access one.

Tankies and American democrats are scaring away the hoes. Source: I'm a hoe that has barely been coming here lately. There's not enough people here for niche communities to thrive, and the front page has been getting worse and worse. Today I saw this post on the front page, pretty close to the top.

I'd like to be clear that I don't care who americans voted for 7 years ago, but that's not why I don't think I should be seeing this. It's just, sheesh man. THIS is what the community wants and thinks is important in 2023? I'm trying to find a niche amongst THIS?

It's very similar to my problem with Gemini and every other "alt tech" platform I've tried to join. Worst case scenario it becomes a sewer for everyone who got banned from other sites for political extremism. Best case scenario, you end up with nothing but the demographic of upper class americans who do nothing but sit on their computers all day, which is not my scene either.

I'm starting to wonder if I should just leave the internet altogether.

For anyone who thinks they're "stuck" with chrome, Firefox has gotten it's shit together massively in the last few years.

Every weed smoker had a zippo they didn't use because it tasted so bad. They're fidget toys more than anything. And the "windproof" feature doesn't work all that well compared to a bic lighter. Who cares if it keeps a tiny flame alive if it's not going to ignite anything else. You have to shelter it anyway.

I was on a forum looking for something once and someone had a flash game as their sig. It was like Portal The Flash Version but the gun was on a rail. And the dimensions of the flash viewport were like a typical sig, so it was pretty interesting just to play a game in such a strange aspect ratio. Not really relevant to anything but I haven't thought of that in a really long time.
