you're right. voltage differential takes the shortest path(s), so it'll just discharge itself p quickly. you are effectively isolated unless you're in between the terminals

lemdro.id doesn't disable editing so I'm not sure what you mean

Well, first off I wasn't presenting a "FOSS first" argument here. Onshape is a closed-source browser based CAD software but it works really well and I enjoy it. PrusaSlicer IS FOSS, but it is developed by the folks at Prusa who build the Prusa i3 printers - it is widely considered to be the "standard" for 3D printing slicers, better than CURA for sure.

Second off, this argument has an element of truth but kind of misses the plot. It is DEFINITELY possible for FOSS to be better and widely used and there are a couple of examples. I don't have a ton of time right now but just for fun I'll list a few. Blender is a great one, don't really need to explain how good it is. Also, KiCAD is really good these days too, second only to Altium. There are many more as well!

they cancelled that

honestly, I think YouTube music is kind of been on a roll lately with changes. I know some people were against the comment section being at it for songs, but I love it

This has not been my experience. I can usually tell when my phone bogs down loading an intense website or switching between 3 apps after a couple years. If I want my phone to last a long time and I want to enjoy using it I've found that it's best to start with a device that is as powerful as possible.

I really love the idea of the Fairphone, but I just can't bring myself to deal with the CPU downgrade for them generally.

Gnome doesn't have an extension API. That is why it is prone to breakage, since the code is injected into the actual shell. The upshot of this is that extensions can do pretty much anything. The downside is there is no stable API.

Personally, I like the current system. I am biased, I am a trusted review on https://extensions.gnome.org

not a lemmy client, but we are an instance at lemdro.id

[-] cole@lemdro.id 6 points 1 year ago

yeah, but to be honest I wasn't interested in Lemmy until I saw Sync was coming. I might not have started this instance without that
