English-speaking community for anniversaries. This also includes personal events!
Rules:
- Mandatory title format: "
X
years ago today […]", where of course X
is replaced by the number of years.
X
≥ 5.
- English language only, but links to non-English sources are allowed if a (short) English summary is provided.
Why move instances?
I moved instances (from feddit.nl to sopuli.xyz) to avoid some… rather unpleasant users of the fediverse.
Why not post anniversary related to [topic] to community about [topic]?
I don't want to look for a fitting community every time I post an anniversary. The purpose of it is to cover a wide range of topics, kinda like the Ask Lemmy communities (but with much less potential for engagement obviously).
Why the mandatory title format?
Because a 75th anniversary is more special than a 74th anniversary, you know what I'm saying?
What about timezones?
My posts could be one day off in your timezone, your posts could be one day off in my timezone. It's fine.
I don't think that should be a relevant factor for the availability of proper sidewalks.
