There is a truism. Will have to come back and give the original quotation author, but it's

"Only poor people pay taxes."

Rich people have the resources to evade and skirt around any tax legislation which they are supposed to be captured within. Most of them use the corporation as holders of wealth of which they have control.

Corporate taxes are almost always lower than personal taxes for that reason.

Banning billionaires is as likely to succeed as veganism.

About to reopen a matrix account. Mostly for tech support.

Didn't really like Twitter, Mastodon holds no interest really.

I do like Lemmy a lot but mostly awaiting a search engine and the rest of the Reddit subs moving over.

Maybe there's room for a fediverse fb in my life but I don't see the world moving over anytime soon. I loathe fb but find some of the groups too useful to leave.

Logseq. Tried all sorts. From vim to codium. Just Logseq.

Gen X; took uni notes on paper. Searching paper notes sucks. My hand-writing always sucked. Gen Z has Logseq. Why wouldn't you?

It's not really about the cost but the initial outlay. I don't want to pay out that kind of money for a test. Not that I don't believe you etc etc.

TBF I haven't been to the OEM website to see if I can get a tester! So almost definitely my bad.

Thank-you again. Struggling to get stuff done atm so hopefully get back soon.

That's an underrated comment. Thank-you.

I was fairly partial to "tie me kangaroo down, sport" as a child of preteen years. Not to mention Gary Glitter songs.

Being bought up in the [UK] seventies comes with a lot of that kind of trauma these days.

I'm having to re-evaluate my life choices as a ten year old regularly in 2020s civilization.

This.

They all eventually release an unplugged album which sounds like all the old upbeat tempo tracks as 45 played at 33⅓.

I want to cry a lot. Mainly because I can't buy the aforementioned 33⅓ and play it at 78 because I don't have a record player anymore.

I'm Gen X and I still hate Country and fucking Western. If anyone sees me looking admiringly at corduroy or jackets with leather patches, have a lethal implement to hand. This note hereby indemnifies ..
