On the power disable feature topic, I've only bought a few used enterprise drives from Goharddrive.com and Serverpartsdeals.com, but they both included a handy little SATA power adapter with each drive for exactly that reason.
The first desktop I installed them in worked just fine with the factory PSU cables, but when I upgraded I was left scratching my head for a few minutes until I remembered those adapters!
To be fair, this post is pretty much the epitome of mildly infuriating.
Yeah, "Hot" is just short for Hot Garbage. It's basically "New" for posts with a couple of upvotes and maybe 1 post.
I think it's a divide by zero thing where posts are weighted by activity divided by age. So a tiny amount of activity on a new post is weighted the same or more than an active post that's a few hours old.
Edit to add: Top 6 Hour seems to be where it's at for a mix of fresh content that is also active.
I have no memory of this as a kid, but even as a grown-ass mid 40s adult, it's weirdly ominous and unsettling. Wtf were they thinking?

There are correlations sure, but I'm not aware of any studies proving a causal link between cars and traffic.
I could just as plausibly say that 95% of cars in traffic have automatic transmissions. And so, just speculating here, but if they all switched to manual transmissions, we may see a significant reduction in traffic.
Fair point. That was never really a huge deal for me because my watching habits tend to be pretty stable, so signing up for a year minimum wasnt a big deal. But that is a place where streaming is still better.

I personally underestimated the support Harris would get. I remember lots of progressives being unhappy with her back in 2020, due to her background as a prosecutor.
Between that and the obvious reasons Republicans would go after her, I figured it would be an uphill battle.
Very happy to have been wrong!
