The article showcases the hypocrisy in demanding the oppressed people to behave more human than the barbaric oppressor is actually behaving towards them. Argueing that this user might not be a real account, just because you (or the other user, whatever) are unable to comprehend the critique is lazy and dishonest.

This is dumb. It's dependant on the mother tongue how and if a definitive article is being used with Ukraine. In German for example, you say "die Ukraine", and a natural translation into colloquial English results in the use of "the Ukraine". This doesn't mean to be a Sergei.

All countries are the baddies from some perspective.

It was an invitation to reflect your deranged yapping about what is morally correct and who deserves what. You're basing your moral perspectives off of western propaganda and are unable to see through it, because you don't even try. But morals, as I mentioned, are not part of the decision tree of imperial war efforts.

The most efficient thing to do, would be to do any and everything to stop the killing. Europe's capitalist class is not interested in that. But me telling you that probably triggers some kind of brainrot accusation of being a Russian bot from you. Breath, don't, I'm not, chill.

You sniffed the NATO stuff a bit too hard and fell off the deep end, my friend. Off to the front you go. It's the only morally correct thing for you to do.

Europe is not going to defend a sovereign state. Europe is not defending itself as you understand it. Europe consistently pushes for us/them.

it was Russians who made themselves the morally corrupt 'them' by killing people in Europe.

Geopolitics is not about morals. But I'm sure Rheinmetall is happy to hear your perspective.

Are we the baddies?

Why hello, my confused, stereotypical American friend. I'm sure life's hard over there in the imperial core, so let me suggest some light reading to you, while you wait for the complete authoritarian take-over from the right, while you keep whining about the left:

Blackshirts and Reds: Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism by Michael Parenti

An accessible exploration of the differences between fascism and communism, addressing why Western societies often conflate the two, and how capitalist interests have portrayed socialist movements as “red fascists.” Especially readable for American audiences looking for a critical but not apologetic take on “tankies” and authoritarianism.

The Authoritarian Specter by Bob Altemeyer

A highly readable introduction to the psychology of authoritarianism, focusing especially on how these tendencies can arise in ordinary Americans — not just extremists or “the other side.” Explains why people across the spectrum endorse authoritarian politics.

Or may I suggest a pretty good video, getting into the basics: Micheal Parenti's Lecture from 1986

It's very hard to convince the American people, that they should send their sons, maybe who knows some day even their daugthers, to go fight and die in some jungle to make the world safe for United Fruit Companies or Chase Manhattan or Procter & Gamble or ITT.

So you say: it's to stop the threat of that communist country.

It's very hard to convince the American people, that a tiny country like Nicaragua or Vietnam or El Salvador is a threat to US security.

So you say: It's not Nicaragua. They are the puppets of the Cubans, who are the puppets of, bum bum bum bum, the big red bear in the Kremlin.

See: nazi bar, and you being the bartender.

[-] doben@lemmy.wtf -2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

a. If you think I'm a nazi in a bar, that's not a nazi bar: why am I still here, bartender?

b. If you think I'm not a nazi, but in a nazi bar, the real question would be: what are you doing here, bartender?

i think you're mad because i didn't fit into your preconceived notions and your whole dialogue tree is ruined

Lol ya, big ass gotcha, haha. Why you think my notion is preconceived? I'm working with what you give me.

What‘s your ideology, goat?

Apart from you argueing in favor of ableism, which in and of itself is disgusting, the whole deleted comment is: „maybe that could be a way to justify the killing of what I define as authoritarian people“ and by authoritarian they mean extreme left, which they don‘t even understand. They‘re fascist, just like your community defending that take, cheering it on.

~~What‘s your defense, fascist?~~ What‘s your opinion on that take, goat? or cm0002? let‘s hear it.

[-] doben@lemmy.wtf -2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

bruh, we never talked about tankies or liberals, stay on topic. We‘re talking about the abhorrent nature of this very community. Are you saying you people are unable to act human, as long as there are other entities out there that don‘t do that? What kind of dumb argument is that? Don‘t you have some kind of self-efficacy?

This is not about tankies or any other funny category of people, it is sorely about the toxic nature of your community.

Why would I have to condemn anything I have nothing to do with, in order for you to grow some metaphorical balls and condemn rotten behaviour in the very community you are moderating?

„I‘ll condemn when you condemn“ - bruh, I‘m not 13 anymore, what is this dumb shit?

Why are you acting so cowardly? Show how proud you are: „We here on (group) are closet-facsists and proud of it! Fuck them (insert hated group), they are roaches and we want them gone.“ Own up to it at least, fascism is en vogue again, nobody’s gonna jail you for it. But at least be honest about it, and towards yourself.

[-] doben@lemmy.wtf -1 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Alright, so you agree that you do dehumanize people you don‘t like (for whatever reason) and are proud of doing so, because you think you are doing it for the right reasons? Just like any fascist, thanks for clearing that up. Or do you have trouble understanding the concept of dehumanization? Also, @goat@sh.itjust.works, I rest my case.
