It was certainly hard to watch.
There are a lot of cultures where seating in public is ad hoc, you just sit wherever, you generally don't claim a table or area to yourself. In those situations greetings and socialization are pretty normal.
I remember going out to eat fast food with a girl and her kid a decade ago and some homeless guy asked if he could sit with us. I said sure, and he was a nice maybe 50 year old guy. He had clearly been around kids and enjoyed to normalcy of just hanging out with the three of us for 30min. The kid didn't mind, but the girl I was dating though it really weird.
I only pee in other people's showers.
'You people' is typically defined by the attached action. 'You people' are the people who actually do that thing, whatever it is.
If you don't do it, 'you people' is not you.
If you do do it, 'you people' is you.
The point is not about 'who', it's an oppositional statement about the 'what', the action, and implies it's bad, or more importantly that the speaker doesn't approve.
Like: 'You people, always with the child raping.'
If you don't rape children, 'you people' isn't you.
But also, the speaker is implying that child raping is bad, or something they don't approve of, and something they don't do.
Then you rule them out on those basis, not their general 'right wing' classification.
Include everyone, but exclude specific content.
The 'go away' or 'go back' BS is exclusive, not inclusive, and should be moderated similarly to bigotry.
The gurl is a bot, and can read and relate to all earth plays in a day of gleeful scanning. Pretty sure she can experience growth from child to teen, then download and integrate a year at the academy and process that input with the new perspective, then move forward still being the same person, just being more complex as a result of the upgrade.
The biggest issue with her 17 year childhood is that she appears to be alone with one other hologram on a starship, which wouldn't exactly allow her to experience and process many normal experiences for people living in communities with mortal folk and pets n such--unless they added life like simulations, other school students, neighbors of varying ages and attitudes, pets that die...
She needed opportunity to deal with real world stresses as they typically increase in severity with age, but she just seemed to get a very performative and sheltered 17 year biological development cycle added to her program.
Seemed to miss the mark by a mile.
The truest of US winners.
Didn't know the capital hired lazy and disheveled mall cops for congressional security.
Those guys don't look like they own a suit.
You can use tools like Staxrip and MKVToolNix to REMUX A/V content into other containers.
So if your TV shows are windows media files or divx files and the TV doesn't play those containers you may be able to bulk rebuild them as a different format without reencoding the files actual content.
Some file contents won't work in some containers though, so YMMV.
Also, some TVs or basic file players like those found on TVs can't read files burried too far down a file tree, or with long names. So consider moving a TV Show to a higher level if needed, like 'drive/GOT S01' vs 'drive/the shows/game of thrones/season 01/s01e01/' .... You get the drift.
Yeah, don't say you don't know if you do, that's lying, which is a crime in this situation. You can answer crime related questions with questions (avoidance). But don't do that for everything. If they push, start asking if you're free to go. If they say no, invoke the 5th.
Don't do their jobs for them.
Don't answer any questions that could incriminate you. Or talk to them in general. But be polite when you do speak.
Only tell them your name or provide other required identity information. Don't say where you are going or coming from. Don't explain anything. Don't tell stories. Don't lie.
Faraday bags work... But test them.
I got a cheapo $7 Chromebook sized bag that seemed to work for my SOs iphone. We don't use NFC so I couldn't test that.
No BT, WiFi, or Cell, and probably no GPS.
I only did casual testing.
The screen still showed the signal having low bars for WiFi and cellular, but it didn't actually receive a signal at all when trying to call or use the net, not even with the top of the bag open a sliver and my hand in there.
If the device was off or in airplane mode and in the bag, I'd be comfortable assuming it was safely hidden from tracking.
I haven't thoroughly tested my various personal devices, but I expect identical results.
I think everyone should probably have a bag like this around, in a go-bag or something, just in case. And it's safer to have your phone available than not, as long as it's secure (use a pin or password to lock it, use encryption, put emergency info on it for first responders).
Who needs to be baited to goon?
