Yeah. My microwave makes five beeps whenever the timer runs out, regardless if I open the door or not.

In terms of appliance beeping aggravation, I've yet to have one that tops an old slow cooker I had. When you turned it on, it just had a beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep that lasted for multiple seconds and made me want to throw it out the window every time I had to use it. It was like a goddamn siren alerting the whole apartment complex to the possibility of pot roast in 4-8 hours.

The way paid time off works in WA is that it goes into a fund that you get paid out of for missing work. So, a minimum of one hour of wages gets added to the pot for every full week of work.

I go to therapy weekly, so I can choose to either take my PTO to cover the hour I miss each week, or I can choose to save it for when I actually get sick. Hypothetically, I could also save it for a vacation, but I'm not bougie enough to take a vacation.

It's also important to remember that there is no magic bullet. Nothing is a viable strategy on it's own.

It's my own personal conspiracy theory that our natural hesitance to throw resources at unknown variables is being amplified by the ruling class and fed back to us in the form of the all-or-nothing perfectionism I've seen a lot this past election cycle.

We need to be building with the blocks we have, and Theil et al are using the fear of failure to encourage us to fight each other about whether we should use square blocks or rectangle blocks.

Yeah, I feel like most of them are stuck in 'number go up', but I also think that the desire to make your investment 'worth it' gets stronger the more money you pour into a bunker system.

I am but a sample size of one, but I've got a copy of CP2020 and not Snow Crash, haha.

I don't know anything about this particular artist, but nude photography is super normal in the art world at large? I'm confused as to what makes nude photography 'not art' to you.

This is how you get republicans wanting to use RATM on the campaign trail

And I’d respond, ~~“I wasn’t!”~~ "Ask my lawyer."

When I say gender identity is biological, I am talking about what Julia Serano calls “subconscious sex” which she also sometimes interchanges with “gender identity”, which is basically that innate and unchanging sense of your sex / gender.

Okay, but what about those of us that have never had an innate and unchanging sense of my sex/gender?
