Lol true

To OP's point, my friends say I don't have an accent, but the number of people who ask me where I'm from says otherwise.

As someone with a slight accent: good. I want you to hear what I'm saying, not my accent.

Regardless, active listening is the way to go. Learn what to listen for and maybe try to actively place the accent once you recognize the markers.

Just please listen to the words first.

Check with your employer if they will help with your continued education somehow. My employer, for example, will reimburse some tuition costs if you get a degree while working there.

As a nurse you can continue up to and including a PhD. Or you can go to medical school and become an MD. There are many options. Try to find a few that sound interesting and learn more about them.

If you feel you have unused potential, maybe making a change in your career is just what you need. Even if you just look into what it would take, it could put things in perspective for you.

Please don't do this. People working at libraries aren't paid enough to deal with that bullshit.

Sounds like great incentive for Zuck to do everything in his power to make sure Trump doesn't get reelected.

As a Gen Xer I'm heartened to see Gen Z stepping up to literally save the world. Seeing the swell in support for Harris and in voter registration numbers, I for once am feeling hopeful. I hope they can accomplish what the forgotten generation couldn't.

And better yet, he's not running for re-election.

So many links are going to go dead because of this. I'm sure plenty of software out there used this to automatically shorten links for posting on social media etc.

For one, the United States lacks a good press corps of independent journalists with broad reach.

Everything is either politicized or commercialized. Shock value sells. Balanced rational discourse does not. Polarization makes too much money for too many people.

On top of that, a systematic destruction of education and a stranglehold of religion practically makes ignorance inevitable.

Maybe we could repair it, but it would take Republicans being blocked from making any decisions for several decades at this point.

Depends on if you're a tits or an ass guy, I guess?

If the idea was to shit on the class that was born right around 9/11, graduated during a global pandemic, and who is going to have to deal with both out of control climate change and AI taking their jobs, then it was executed beautifully. Otherwise it was extremely tone-deaf.
