Some people do overestimate how much of the software they’re actually using, and how far back some features go. I learned the little PS I know using a 7.0 license my father bought, I used it for years doing 2D graphics and web “design”, and still basically still have the same workflow with minor differences to avoid destructive changes.

This is how I see it too. His intentions were pure - he wanted the ring’s power to save Gondor. The Ring corrupted and exploited those desires. In the books, we know his immediate thoughts were for the people of Gondor and the hobbits he felt like he failed, and he gave his life to defend their escape.

Swipe it up rather than sideways

This is the part that I always find mind boggling. Yeah, parents who don’t parent exist, but the vast majority want the screaming to stop just as much as anybody else, if not more…

So because you have trouble with noise, parents should be stuck at home until their children are old enough to be certain they won’t make noise in public? Kids have the right to just exist and go places, for fuck’s sake. Their parents’ lives don’t just pause while the kids grow up, they still want, and sometimes need, to go places, and those places being sometimes far, may have to be reached by plane. What are you expecting them to do, exactly?

We have this reputation here in Quebec to be generally angry at people who are not speaking French when visiting. I've never experienced nor was witness of it, but I believe it when I hear people say they've had issues with some of us Quebs too. We have our fair share of idiots, like most nations.

Say this to my very large Canadian ISP who still doesn’t support IPv6 for residential customers. Last I checked, adoption in Canada was still under 50%.

On one hand, it kind of needs to happen. Our economy as a whole is overleveraged on housing. On the other hand… A large proportion of our MPs are either landlords or reported housing related income, too, so why would they want things to change?

I’m in the unfortunate situation that I can’t possibly wait it out, for accessibility reasons. I’m utterly pissed off at the idea that I’m probably throwing way my life savings at a card castle that’s waiting to crumble. It’s just completely fucked up.

The plastic feels a bit like a heavy duty ziplock bag, or piping bag material, made as a tube (so strong shape, structurally) then flat sealed on both ends. Quite thick so not that easy to puncture by accident. Once in a while there’s one that leaks but they get removed at the grocery store by stockers, mostly. It’s easy to spot, it just looks flat and at worst (if the hole is on the bottom), there’s a liter and some of milk all over in their fridge.

I remember the split-screen multiplayer to be insanely fun as well.

Aaaaaand now I understand why looking at gameplay footage really didn’t look all that fun to me. I generally dislike the crafting survival genre. Even No Man’a sky, with how light on the “survival” aspect it is, and as a space nerd with a deep space exploration fetish, didn’t manage to capture my attention for more than 10 hours. The endless resource gathering and crafting time just inevitably bores me to death after a couple of loops. Feels like work, and I am paying for it?

I thought I had completely erased this from my memory. Turns out I did not. I would thank you if it wasn't such a traumatic experience.
