I have 3 old DreamSpark Windows 7, 8 and 10 Pro licenses I’ve been upgrading/reusing between my main PC and laptop, so I haven’t bothered looking at the state of spoofing the MS activation process in years. Holy crap now it’s literally just on GitHub lol, used to have to download some zip on a random forum or a dodgy torrent…
I love this takeaway. So few people seem to follow this line of thinking.
I was a pack-a-day smoker at my worst, probably a pack every 2-3 days for most of it. I smoked for less than a decade. It took me all my willpower and slowly cutting down on nicotine through vapes over a couple of years, until I couldt kick the habit itself without the physical cravings getting in the way. But I’m on the opposite side of the spectrum, and I think that what I now know to be my ADHD impulsiveness is making me really prone to addiction…
I’d wager it is, or was, a loss leader. Its position at the very end of the store has to be strategic to make you look at everything else on the way.
How so? Outside very niche stuff or podcasts I just don’t seem to it used that often.
I’ve got small gauges, I just don’t feel them at all. I could see more dangling jewelry being kind of irritating…
I literally said “what makes it funny for me”
Curiosity. Then starting development and figuring out most things non-MS specific assume UNIX/Linux based. I'm not obsessed at all, I quite enjoy macOS, and don't mind Windows too much for what I do with it, but it's my OS of choice for development machines, and any servers I control.
Iiiinteresting. Will test that out. Thanks!
Edit: works great! Thank you so much.
Understandable. It may have to do with the sugar content? Or sulfites, like wine? Dunno, honestly. Still made me drink like an idiot without realizing.
Funny, I went the opposite way and went back from smaller boards to adding back the number row. I settled on the Iris, although I've been eyeing building a 4x6 manuform for a while. Layers are fun, until I use some software with a shortcut like Ctrl+Alt+Shift+2... I actually have redundancies, multiple ways to type some characters, for this very reason - mostly numbers and F keys. Sometimes it's really just much more of a hassle to do some key combinations when everything is hidden behind layers.
Yeah... Indeed, our field is pretty prone to weird tribalism and jumping on bandwagons. Still, I dislike that just as much lol
It was self-fulfilling for me. I started self-hosting and messing with networking before I went into IT. I thought I’d be in a very different field until ~10 years ago.
