If everyone started using encrypted messaging software, using devices that are resilient to all but the highest levels of forensics, and stuck to social spaces which prevent bots and alt accounts, hosted on servers in countries their own nation's law enforcement doesn't have access to, it would massively increase the costs of surveillance. Every layer of that increases the price.

When you let surveilling you become profitable and easy, expect it to get worse. More obtrusive. After all, you've displayed compliance up to that point.

Wow someone should have tried threatening peripheral countries by withholding trade deals, aid, loans from the World Bank and IMF in exchange for political changes. Why didn't anyone think of that already? 🤣

The global financial system does not care about human rights, firms want peripheral countries to remain undeveloped to keep costs down. With improvements in living standards come improvements in civil rights. That is what every single person who studies any society will tell you, except for liberals who want to justify extortion and sanctions, but only to "help" of course.

They will never hit enough in Russia to make a military or economic difference, or it would be stepping fully across Russia's red lines rather than stepping one toe and stepping back. The best that can be hoped for in that department is more gloating. As if NATO needs an excuse or an event to gloat.

Would not be surprised if more stuff like this leads to Russia escalating to electrical infrastructure attacks like post-Kerch bombing.

Ethiopia for real this time. Blinken balked at a no-flyzone. AFRICOM is cooking up something in the Horn.

Why did they advertise that leak and cybersec advertising service Have I Been Pwned in the breach? Why did they hack a site where I literally just store websites? Why did they claim it was for Palestine? Seems like stupid fed shit to me. Also funnily enough I didn't even really need to change my password since I only had a few website saves and used a burner email
