I don't think financial literacy is the problem. I think the majority of the debt is incurred because people need to spend money on necessities. No amount of sound financial planning can make that go away

especially considering HAMAS fighters a lot of times wear civilian clothing and don't follow the laws of war

Sure, Hamas should paint giant targets on their backs and face the Israelis in an open field, mano-a-mano.

As long as Israel doesn't recognize Palestine as an independent state, I don't see why Palestinian freedom fighters, Hamas or otherwise, should behave like they're the official army of an independent state.

I don't know for sure, but looking back at the struggle of black people in the USA, I think the most likely way out is being forceful. Every victory was a struggle, either via direct violence or (often violent) protests. I would love to be wrong and see that love indeed conquers all, but I don't know of any time that actually worked.

Would you change your mind if Houthi soldiers died? What is civilians would die?

Can the US bomb anyone they can't arrest? Don't the Houthis deserve a fair trial by an independent jury? Can any country bomb another country if they feel like it?

I know the answer is that it's because the US it's powerful and doesn't give a damn about people in the global south. But this is a grave injustice and the evil American empire deserves to fall.

I'm not saying you're okay with it. I'm just pointing out that one offense justifies bombs and the other simply suing the boss (while admitting it doesn't do anything). I'm simply proposing we bomb Nestle before Yemen. In Minecraft of course.

This comment got to me really late, probably to Lemmy's distributed nature.

But I still want to add: of course business will make more money if you allow more practices, but selling personal data just has too many negative consequences.

Also low quality advertising? You mean like billboards and in the newspaper? You mean regular advertising?

So fish sauce? That's actually very tasty! A little splash improves any savory/salty dish.

I don't think you're completely right here. The two-state solution isn't very popular with regular Palestinians either. A two-state solution cements Israel as ethno-state and doesn't address all the Palestinians already deported.

Also Israeli settlers keep violently stealing people's houses, which I would also consider breaking the ceasefire.

There are certainly Jews that are indigenous to that region, but most of them are not.

And in any case, why would Jews that haven't lived there for multiple generations have more rights to the land than people actually living there?

Can an Irish-American go to Ireland and kick people out of their houses? No! They can move there and get their own house, that's it. Same with Jews wanting to live in Palestine. They can move there, they can't form their own country and deport the people living there. That's called ethnic cleansing.

A thing can't be weak and strong by the same metric, indeed. That's why this article has to call China's economical strength a miracle, as well as so weak it is about to collapse, otherwise the contradiction would be too obvious.

Republican means you are in favor of a republic, meaning no monarchy. Communism wants a classless society, so they are republicans as a logical consequence of the ideology. America is a democratic republic, so both Democrats and Republicans are just meaningless labels .
