Not really. The "control mechanism" is already in place for games that rely on Steam's infrastructure for their online functionality.

It got very hot and eventually stopped working. It was under warranty and I got an 80gb replacement for $200 cheaper, but lost out on backwards compatibility which really sucked because I sold my PS2 to get a PS3.
Yeah. Unfortunately the only developers that are allowed to release good products in this economic landscape are 1st party Sony devs.

Absolutely. This is a tough pill to swallow for most first-worlders, because they don't want to acknowledge they're a part of the problem.
