Same day launch as Spider-Man 2. This year is just littered with amazing games. Excited to try this one as I never could get into 3d Mario games.
I live a short bike ride away from the shops. I have some side bags for the ebike I built so lugging groceries isn’t too much of an issue.
The biggest shift is learning you wouldn’t shop the same way you do with a car. With a car you go to a big supermarket and load up a trolley. Spend over a hundred for a week’s worth and drive home. With a bike you kinda just buy as needed for the next couple days. You do more trips throughout the week which is kinda nice too. Forces you to get out of the house more. Benefit I realised when doing this was vegetables were less likely to just die out in the fridge since I bought as needed. Which meant I spent a little less overall.
It definitely feels like a lost cause banning guns. It’s part of the culture. When we banned guns in Australia after one single mass shooting, I don’t believe Australia had nearly as much of a gun loving culture. It was still seen as a tool in the country side for hunting and such. I don’t know the answer to changing culture. It’ll take generations possibly. Smoking was seen like an everyday thing in the 60s. Now it’s disgusting. Perception can change eventually.
While I personally wouldn’t repair my own iPhone. If I need it done I would want to go to an Apple Store anyway. This makes selling on your phone for other people to fix and use and sell on and use again virtually impossible, which would’ve been more sustainable than just binning the phone.
It’s especially shitty since they also announced net zero plans. It’s all smoke and mirrors.
I’m thinking about the movie going decision and why “scary” movies make money regardless of quality. They might not be good movies. But advertised scary movie means “hey let’s all go see it” to experience the scares together for fun. Whereas this decision to see something they don’t know for the thrill wouldn’t happen as much or at all with other genres.
On your comment I also do think some filmmakers might miss the point on what makes good scary like what you talked about.
Louie was the one of the most creative and funny show at the time. I really looked up to Louis CK and his work. His whole scandal was the one that taught me not to look up to anyone that’s not directly in my life.
Not a free pass. I just know there’s a peak level of exhaustion that makes you not notice or not realise your own actions. There’s a reason there’s parents accidentally leave their baby in a hot car. Or leave their kid in the bath tub and walk off. Once you go through it you know and you have to be so careful. Luckily this person (assuming they didn’t do it on purpose) just parked badly and didn’t hurt anyone.
Luckily the worst I’ve ever done was put the milk in the pantry and cereal in the fridge
Like others have said. It’s because steam deck runs steam os that makes it better than the rest. It’s a catered os for the device. It was after I jumped in I realised how robust it is. Every game in integrated works on Linux no issue I even took windows off my desktop pc. Best reason is also community. Steam deck has plenty of online support whereas the other ones are a bit more saturated
No car is best car Debt free car is second best car Big or expensive car to prove your worth is worst car
It definitely didn't look as active and fast paced to me compared to last time. Still goes to show the majority are still enjoying Reddit and that's fine I guess
50/50. If I’m working at home all day I’ll just wear glasses. I take it off multiple times a day too when my face is irritated. If I’m going out I’ll usually wear contacts. If I’m lazy then I won’t. Having both is nice for options.
That’s why there’s a difference between book smart and street smart. Working on both matters. It’s a competitive world out there. You’re right, a degree doesn’t guarantee you a job, it probably did back in the day that’s why older generations wanted kids to go to college. Hence the competition.
Like it or not. This is essentially what comes with living in a capitalist society. My parents always told me growing up to learn a skill. Doesn’t matter what just like it and keep getting better at it. And that’s your fallback. It’s definitely help led me through lots of industries and careers. But I couldn’t have done it without a combo of hustle and study. All of it, the study, the networking, the interviews IS the work. There’s no “end”. So you gotta find some joy out of the process otherwise it’s hard to be happy in life.
I loved getting better at what I did. I would constantly work on or talk to folks on how to get better and how to get a job from what I did. My only goal was to get a job even slightly close to my industry and drop retail work. Once I got that I set a new goal, but all in the name of getting better at my craft and learning new skills to complement it. That involved going back to university in my mid, late 20s.
I never saw it as my career. I just wanted to get better at the few things I like doing and hustle to learn how to get paid for it. Then how to get better again and get paid more for that. Money came naturally because people do want to pay for passionate skillful people. But lots and lots of struggle along the way. Not trying to undersell that. But it was still fun and worth it when you have people by your side in this journey.
So on getting a degree, the most important thing I got out of it was making friends.
