Apple actually already sort of have it — you can go to settings and check whether any repairs/tampering happened on your device. That is I believe a correct approach - you can always check after a repair/second hand buy whether their claims are true, yet it is maximally usable.

I also thought of that series!

What might be a solution to this problem is to establish a trusted system/program (already hard) that would very comfortably allow you to make these decisions: e.g. you would like to decrease the profits of any company exploiting poor people in Africa (fuck nestle), so you mark that option, and during shopping, scanning a product would instantly flag any which is related to the issue.

There actually is something similar (buycott?), but it is not really used where I live. It probably would have to be very comfortable to use, like actually calculating your budget/spendings, otherwise people wouldn’t use it.

I mean, criminals caught and put into jail by definition have less rights than someone free to walk anywhere.. though your actual point is taken.

Or change copy to command+c.. I’m gonna be honest, OSX is right here. And quite strangely it is very hard to customize your linux to imitate that.

They are both UNIXes, that’s quite a lot of similarity and I wouldn’t write it off that fast.

In what way does it limit your freedom? When I first tried OSX I was quite surprised at how customizable it actually is, contrary to all the talk I heard about it.

That 44b had to be paid in real cash, not just the current theoretical value of the sum of his shares. He sold quite a lot of Tesla shares afaik to banks to give them a “small loan”.

Memory is an implementation detail. You are interested in solving problems, not pushing bytes around, unless that is the problem itself. In 99% of the cases though, you don’t need guns and knives, it’s not a US. school (sorry)

And it is not forced at all. Noone holds a gun to your head to write extends. “Favor composition over inheritance” has been said as a mantra for at least a decade

HttpClient. You don’t necessarily need a third-party tool for rest calls or the like, and it really is quite handy!
