There were a slew of articles coming from Ukrainian press earlier this year and late last year complaining about how half the conscripts were given only basic training (2 weeks) then sent to replenish the veteran battalions.

In the fascist battalions, the veteran old guard cadre were preserved in relatively safe rear positions and the raw conscripts sent to the front line trenches.

I am not sure about battalion vs battalion but there was significant anger and outrage that within fascist battalions it was the conscripts being sent to on the suicide missions.
