I think what you're doing is fine, in fact, it's one of the Microsoft recommended methods of doing it.

I use ecobee and block it from the Internet. Works great with Home Assistant via Homekit.

Not on TV. Who the fuck wants to watch vertical 60second videos on a 16:9 TV?

It boggles my mind it's forced upon us even on the TV app

What? Now I'm confused, when I installed it and tried searching there was nothing. I could go configure them but I didn't know what to do there. EDIT, never mind, I was confusing Jackett with something else, Jackett works great.

I pay for mobile bandwidth, it shouldn't matter to the carrier how I use it.

It would be the same as your ISP charging you extra for going to YouTube website.

How do I do that?

That defeats the purpose of decentralization and creates a dangerous precedent. The entire point of Lemmy is that every instance is equally valid and legitimate. If certain instances are elevated above others, we're on our way to do what Gmail and Microsoft did to email.

Right? Jews aren't completely harmless

[-] lemming007@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Which is ridiculous, the widescreen TV is the ultimate spot where vertical videos have no place.

[-] lemming007@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Where would user information be stored?

[-] lemming007@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

But don't you need the rest of the *arr apps for Jackett as well?

I just want to search the damn public torrent sites without having to install a dozen of applications.

Yeah, this is kind of disappointing. There's no consistent experience. What I see may be very different from what you see and while that's in itself is not necessarily bad, it makes it hard to discover communities.

I guess it's the price we pay for decentralization and I'm okay with that.
