I had one around 2012-2013 and it failed on me. I had issues with it throughout its life but I didn't realise it was the drive until I upgraded to a Samsung.

So what's the recommended replacement?

I will not go back to the stock launcher because they're dog water.

When I searched for a cheap VPS I settled on IONOS's XS package (this 1€/month). It's one of the cheapest out there. Bonus is that it's a company we all recognise and can reasonably trust. And there are no weird gimmicks either; it's just straight forward.

One thing missing from this XS package compared to their other packages from IONOS is that there is no resource monitor on their web panel, which can be useful if you don't want to set up your own.

I'm using a 128GB phone and it's never full. But I export photos And videos off it once every 6 months. If I didn't I'd need 1TB phone.

Boost hasn't stopped working. I'm still using it and I've used it everyday.

I have Boost for Lemmy and Reddit. Their icons are identical.

Do you use your email addresses on websites? I find it hard to believe you don't see this when you look at it in the security page of Outlook if you use your email address for more than just emailing friends and family.

Rootful docker and rootless docker can be run at the same time on the same machine too. So projects that require root privileges can still work on a machine where most other projects run as rootless.

How about seeing YouTube adverts to then watch a video that's entirely an advertisement for the company that's sponsoring the YouTuber.

Not a mod tool, but since I've found you. Is there a way to hide post points on user devices from being shown to the user? If not, feature request please.

Depending on my mood, I sometimes do not want to see the points my posts have received. And likewise, sometimes I don't want to see the points others have received either.

I've not seen RTFM said or wrote like that before. Is it common?

They seem obnoxious. Obviously not all Linux users are like this.

Do you not feel the same is true with Reddit?

  • Downvoted perfectly good and reasonable comments. Some are the correct answers because you know a lot about a particular thing in the world.

  • Downvoted perfectly good and reasonable submissions

  • Reddit mods shadow banning your submissions/comments

  • Reddit mods deleting your submissions/comments and/or locking them.

  • People in general just being asses.

I'm not saying that Lemmy is perfect but it feels like both can have a similar vibe. A lot of Lemmy people were/still are Reddit people and so it makes sense that both have similar vibes.
