@makeasnek @pears is working on that
@maegul IMHO you are making false assumptions.
Some admin have already / will block Meta but don't see any point of signing the pact.
Some people choose to federate with Threads but are Meta hostile. They federate with the goal of promoting Fedi/FLOSS/privacy/leaving Meta on Threads 🤷
@andrew_bidlaw you would be surprised. Many projects are so short on money that you can make people so happy. Sometimes, even giving 100€ was life-changing for some people we supported 😲
@andrew_bidlaw long story short, it's due to our way to democratically split our budget.
We take 1% of our sales. That's ~ €17k
€10k of the budget go to the firsts "winners" of a vote we have internally. We had 3 winners so the €10k was split in 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 so €5k was attributed to @panoramax €3333 to support the threadiverse and €1666 for https://www.hackinscience.org/
I think this post my interest you regarding https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/21027 this could be a privacy-compliant alternative to PhotoDNA
@ajsadauskas sounds like what @pears is trying to do
