I have a friend that’s adamant about voting third party but he keeps pushing RFK jr. Americans are so fucking weird!

Listen to the interview where she just took what all her teacher friends were telling her in the 1990s and she just extrapolated it all! I find it really sad that she gave up on Parable of the Trickster cause she realized how difficult living in space actually was.

Not saying that this would strategically make sense, but tactically Hamas has the chance to do something really funny and turn at least one of their leaders in and make Israel look even worse.

The US could have bought its way out of Covid. But they would have had to value their own citizens lives above going out to eat.

The unemployment benefits could have been higher. They could have implemented UBI. Put a pause on non-essential work. Raised minimum wage for a wide variety of industry. And spent 2020-2021 improving buildings with better ventilation, in preparation for re-opening. Instead we had open-up protests and horse dewormer paste being sold to even bigger idiots.

My wife's car is about to hit 100k and we wanted to sell it, but instead we are in a holding pattern due to 9% interest on CAR LOANS. And because it keeps breaking down, we are now reducing our spending and accumulating "emergency funds". It sucks fucking shit.

Trying not to trip on a treadmill from laughing when Hobsbawm calls English “practical men” as a dunk.

The Need for Predictable Orders

Defense companies are generally unwilling to take financial risks without contracts—including multiyear contracts—in place.

It is not a sound business decision to build more munitions or weapons systems without a clear demand signal and financial commitments. This risk aversion is compounded if companies make additional capital investments—especially investments for facilities, infrastructure, and tooling.

As one DoD study concluded:

“Producers benefited from steady or predictable orders, so the DoD’s inconsistent procurement and concurrent production ramps (both increases and decreases) exacerbate the challenges suppliers face across the [defense industrial base].”

I guess, we'll really have to worry when the DoD starts putting in 5-year contracts in place.

Edit:

Consequently, it is important to buy munitions smarter to take advantage of scale and market power. Examples include advanced procurement, multiyear procurement, and economic order quantity processes.

I didn't vote for Biden in 2020 and I won't go near a polling station ever again. At this point it isn't even Joe Biden, they mobilized to win the entire state of Georgia and they still didn't send a $2000 stimulus check. They are losers.
