I’m sure he would rather put them on trains. And still wouldn’t see the hypocrisy.

Funny you mention that... one of the things that barely gets any mention in history books is how enthusiastically Europe's police forces collaborated with the Holocaust - the Vichy police literally rounded up Jewish people by the thousand to send off to the death camps without the Nazis even asking them to do so.

It's almost like the institution of police was invented to act as a distillery for the worst right-wing goons that the people at the top can sicc on anyone that the status quo has painted as a threat and/or scapegoat.

It's never just been the US - Israel doesn't just have a whole bunch of enablers... said enablers also back the very idea of a modern-day Israel.

France, the UK, Germany, Australia, Apartheid-era South Africa all played their part in helping with all this - I guess the fact that it's all countries with histories that are deeply entwined with white supremacism, antisemitism and colonialism is purely coincidence, eh?

Most of my coworkers can barely make it through their own tasks

I guess you haven't met many CEOs, then.

They will still sell the products they produce in a marketplace.

There is no rule that states they have to sell squat in a marketplace. They could, but they also couldn't. That's the whole point of the workers owning the means of production - the workers involved makes those deicisions, not a capitalist or bureaucratic parasite class.

The only thing that makes data useful to humanity is the fact that it can be copied - not copying data is unethical.

In general, any multimillionaire that gets off of a serious charge doesn’t mean they’re innocent.

Don't forget the flip-side of that - the prisons are full of poor people who do not deserve to be there. It's almost as if the system was designed to be like this...

which has taken a sharp conservative turn

It's halfway to a swastika.

I stopped telling myself that twenty years ago... at one point or the other, even I couldn't believe it any more.

Ooooh... did the article forget to mention Meloni is a rabid fascist?

Must have just been an oversight on their part, right?

So it's just "we can't abolish slavery because it will hurt all the poor slave-owners" but modernized.

Uuuuh... as far as I'm aware, Russia has already been using cluster munitions in Ukraine. They used cluster munitions in Chechnya and Syria as well - and lots of them.

The US used them extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan, too... but that's okay, because those people don't "look like us" (apparently).

It's kind of weird that people are only now making a big fuss about them.
