Just providing context. Not "blaming it on the town."

I'm unfortunately very familiar with this town. It's an industrial wasteland with no real job market and drugs are rampant.

This story is unfortunately not at all surprising.

Thanks for your response! If you light events with broadcast cameras, I am the annoying video engineer behind the camera controls asking about flicker and color balance. I hope they keep making y'all's specialty bulbs. Looks like there's a big list of exceptions!

Unfortunately it seems like refrigerators are the appliance that is just known to die the fastest now. I searched high and low for a good warranty but even the higher end fridges don't get them these days. And the Samsung 10 year warranty is a bandaid for the lawsuits they're facing.

You've clearly done your research cause the first thing to die in a fridge is always the ice maker 👍

I don't have a mower. I leave the leaves through spring and then begin composting them. I have more leaves than pile though.

Just got my hands on a swamp milkweed this week. Very excited to see what ends up on it next year.

Also bee balm, phlox, western sunflowers, a variety of coneflowers, eastern Prickly pear, and an ostrich fern all hidden in my tiny backyard.

Removable batteries existed in smart phones before. There are plenty of devices today, walkie talkies for example, that are fully waterproof and are battery swappable.

Manufacturers just want your money.

Wow... I'm new here so I'm still learning how all this works but I tried to apply to beehaw at first and they were having severe issues with their approval system so I either got denied or, most likely, got stuck in application purgatory.

Honestly, with how Lemmy is set up, it seems like it makes more sense to cater your instance to a more niche crowd than "all nice people" like beehaw was attempting to do.
