Maybe a family member, with a black spouse, is lynched for daring to marry a white woman? Or, even closer to home, perhaps a tweet or post you made from 2010 suddenly becomes against a decency law and you're questioned, tortured, and jailed for it?

I agree, reverse proxy was also a little mind numbing before I really buckled down and read/watched a bunch of info on it. I learn best by examples and try-fail, but that's hard to do with live services.

Not being a network guy, it took a bit for me to get reverse proxy set up on my Synology NAS, but now all my services run through it and have LetsEncrypt certs.
Highly recommend reverse proxy to obscure your services and make it easier for friends and family to find them!
