You assumed by, "save you a click," they'd read and summarized the article? No, they are such a big brain, they know everything without even having to read the article!

I was really hopefully that the messaging around the carbon tax would have been better, and Canadians would realize most of us earn money overall with the carbon rebates.

I was hoping that could lead us into more Pigouvian taxes to financially encourage people to make better choices. For example, a Pigouvian tax on clothing to reduce our reliance on fast-fashion and encourage consumers to buy more high-quality, long lasting clothes.

This is talking about carrier locked phones, not locked bootloaders.

Ground guide or at least a crew commander at the top of the tank/armoured fighting vehicle. I can see lots of people accepting a lookout on top of their Personal Support Truck before they'd consider downsizing or gulp not driving. I guess that would also increase vehicle occupancy above the abysmal 1.4 people/vehicle it's currently at!

For now, Tom has chosen not to report the incident, citing fear of the police.

Out of this awful situation, I think this is the saddest part. I don't blame her and think her fear of the police is well placed. It's just so sad that even in such a clear case of police misconduct, with video evidence, she still doesn't feel safe reporting it.

Sure, but that's unlikely, given the wording. "Owner of the software" is fairly clear and trademark and software are very different.

From the article:

Unlike some other Crown corporations, Canada Post isn't funded by taxpayers. It needs to sustain itself through profits.

So, while I agree it should be a service funded by taxes, that's not how it's set up.

Did you read the article? It mainly focused on parking minimums and density. It doesn't matter whether or not individual people use those parking spaces, it's a systemic issue!

He’s not counted in the unemployment numbers because he hasn’t filed for benefits.

That's untrue. From the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics:

In the Current Population Survey, people are classified as unemployed if they meet all of the following criteria:

  • They were not employed during the survey reference week.
  • They were available for work during the survey reference week, except for temporary illness.
  • They made at least one specific, active effort to find a job during the 4-week period ending with the survey reference week (see active job search methods) OR they were temporarily laid off and expecting to be recalled to their job.

There are other statistics measuring unemployment claims, but when you hear, "the unemployment rate for Oct 2023 is 3.9%", that is unrelated to benefits.

According to the article,

The case galvanized conservatives nationwide when reports spread that the cisgender male student wore a skirt during the first attack.
