Randall did the math on this one: https://what-if.xkcd.com/31/
He assumes 64 GB microsd cards, if you use 1 TB ones, you could send 16 times more.

Security from what? Get a threat model.
A NAT will restrict connections from the internet, but won't stop attacks from your local network. As your network grows, it might be a good idea to isolate shitty IOT devices (firmware is often full of holes), home internet and sensitive devices like cameras.
Most power generation methods like coal have similar requirements, and it doesn't have to be clean water. In costal areas, seawater can be used just fine.
Electron only. 🤢
They did, with core you could be paying for many dollars per bit of memory. They also often used teletypes, where you would pay in ink and time for every character.
Is this part of a Hi-Lo implementation for blackjack? (Also, ewww mixed types)
discuss.tchnics.de is quite lenient when it comes to defederation, only defederating instances that host content illegal under German law (CP, Nazi shit) and blatant calls for violence (Nazi shit) or massive spamming. Based in Germany so somewhat decent privacy (still in the 14 eyes). Main languages are English and German, but others are permitted.
Keep in mind that Lemmy as a whole provides very little privacy, with any instance being able to log almost all activity.
Also, images are not proxies by default so you can do this:
I was expecting the QR code to be a rick roll, but it wasn't. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Edit: There were some Rick rolls in the first 24h, my day is slightly less ruined
And now you know why programmer socks are a thing.
The real problem is that making lists is an infinitely recursive task, each entry on a list can end up becoming its own list. I will frequently spend all day making a list, instead of doing things.
This is minor one, but annoys me how comnmon this is: light is made out of litle packets of energy called photons.
Here is a good video on the topic: https://youtube.com/watch?v=SDtAh9IwG-I (Too lazy didn't watch: Light is an electromagnetc wave and is is not quantized. Only the interactions between atoms and light are quantized)
Sounds like a slow and inaccurate pregnancy test more then anything else, and apparently it even works. Kinda impressive that they managed to figure it out, I guess thousands of years of fucking around paid off.
