it’s an actual scientist talking, who doesn’t seem to be making any outrageous claims, or anything you could call propaganda, no conclusions are drawn, so idk what the propaganda would even be for.

The entire point of the field of ethics and half the field of philosophy is to reduce suffering

this is just a lie. one type of ethical study, utilitarianism, is focused on that. many ethical theories don't regard suffering at all, or only as a facet of some other concern.

I like open protocols and free software, and during the API exodus there was finally enough content that I wanted to jump ship.

of course I had annoyances with reddit, but I have annoyances with Lemmy too.

it's still preferable imho
