Tariffs came in last Tuesday, were removed on Friday, came back on Sunday. I expect Tim Apple is loving the daily surprises.
There's always a problem proposing that social media companies be held legally responsible for the content their users create. If they can get sued for anything anyone says in a post, it could become impossible for anyone to run a social media site or even a web forum.
Your criteria exclude much that is useful. For example, scientific studies that confirm theoretical predictions or replicate previous results, which are both essential to good science. Your emphasis seems to be entirely on challenging established understandings and institutions and shaking things up, but if that's the only thing you respect as not "drivel", you just end up pushing contrarianism. Sometimes it's valuable to agree, or to come to consensus. Sometimes it's valuable to delve into the subtleties of an existing way of understanding the world. Sometimes it's valuable to explore how others already understand the world, while keeping quiet and not asserting anything of your own until you are well steeped in it. Not everything needs to be shaken up or disrupted all the time - to look only for this is the unwisdom of hubristic tech bros and conspiracists.
I doubt the courts would be respected even if they ruled against it. Trump is currently ignoring the courts to have people illegally kidnapped and deported to foreign prisons, with no due process, some of them to be enslaved there for life:
From that article:
CECOT prisoners do not receive visits and are never allowed outdoors. The prison does not offer workshops or educational programs to prepare them to return to society after their sentences. ... Bukele’s justice minister has said that those held at CECOT would never return to their communities.
The Trump administration has not identified the migrants deported, provided any evidence they are in fact members of Tren de Aragua or that they committed any crimes in the U.S.
Being quite dim and narcissistic, Trump may not be aware that he's consistently doing Putin's bidding. If Russia can get intermediaries to put the right words in Trump's ear, they could play Trump while letting him believe he's just having his own brilliant ideas.
Why is dictating gender the government's business? Where are all the Republicans who always objected to the government intruding into people's lives? Was it all bullshit from all of them? Was there not a single Republican for whom this was more than a veiled demand that they be allowed to be a bigot and an asshole?
And where are the protests over this? Think how tough transgender people have it, and how much tougher the Nazi government is making it for them. Think how this is denying people basic rights. There should be mass protests in support of transgender rights. There's so much irrational hatred and cruelty. All of us who can see the inhumanity should be doing something, even some little thing, to help trans people and obstruct this program of cruelty designed to drive people to despair.
He should use more. Parts of his brain are still encouraging him to move around and do harmful things. He needs to be more comatose.
Or painfully doesn't care about the costs to other people.
You forgot the endless pages of trick questions you have to periodically step through to get into Windows. One wrong move and you owe Microsoft money every month.
Up you go, and soon it will.
It's at times like these I turn to my man Alexei:
