That why a rhetorical tool that personalizes death may work.
Something like "okay, your mother is now dead. And now your wife, and auntie and even your old highschool girlfriend. You watch them all die, bewildered and distraught, but you do nothing until your son dies in front of you, choking on a resporator, pleading in his eyes until the very end."
"You can stop the rest of your family dying right now right now, right way. you can even save your own life, in a way that will also save other peoples mothers, wifes, and sons. Will you?"

Carrier groups normally have logistical supply ships called tenders that can come and go, but it looks like they pivoted to Iran without laying in stock or coordinating resupply. They were also blocking mail flow, which points to "no supply ships" as well.
This is just abusive, which should be no surprise. Trump et al don't give one fuck about actual soldiers or sailors, they just want the glory of slaughter while doing the least possible for the "suckers" who serve. Big fucking empty words from those assholes, somehow even more so than usual.
Normal deployments are bad enough, but I can guarentee moral is in the absolute shitter right now. This kind of shit is why people stock up on canned chicken/tuna/etc when in port. The food on the ships is normally terrible, but to also not even have enough calories to work the 7 day a week you do underway is just fucking unconscionable.
