No one can undo years of economic turbulence in three years. Everyone feels like they're being gaslit because they are. The patient will bleed out before you finish applying the first bandaid.
This. Buying power of the average American has decreased drastically. If you worked for the last five years and your pay has changed you've technically made less money every year as the power of the dollar has diminished. If you're on a fixed income it feels even worse.
Yeah it's true. All the products I see for sale are unappealing and make me think "Who asked for this?" And anything I would pay for doesn't seem to exist because "Oh that's too expensive to manufacture". Feels bad dude.
I wonder if this age of consolidated net access if Google, Facebook,Twitter will be for or against this.
Hot Take: There are only a handful of original super hero stories. Everything else is essentially Buffy the Vampire slayer.
Don't get me wrong, I love Buffy. It really set the modern standard for the modern TV and Movie super hero. The few SuperHero movies we get that aren't a Buffy derivative tend to be more dark Alan Moore-esque derived stories. Alan Moore sees Heros as flawed, twisted, sad, and relatable. Buffy does this too but it's wit and humor gives it a candy coated shell.
"Dawn's been kidnapped... Must be Tuesday"
It also feels like they took the formula and put it on its head, instead of monster of the week we now get hero of the week. Audiences tend to come back for sequels when you have a strong cast of protags. But now you have too many protags and the monsters are all samey. This is how you eventually end up with DC character themed Isekai.
Thanks for listening to my semi coherent rant.
Nooooooope! ... Chuck Tegra
I would disagree on the selling point. If you provide something for "free" that is advertisement supported, you sold it to an advertiser.
The weird thing to me about the majority of VMware environments I see is that they exist to prop up and extend Microsoft environments.
Microsoft is hostile towards this use case because having your own cloud competes with their cloud products.
VMware was a commodity product that exists because they know how desperately IT professionals need to keep these Windows systems running with some level of reliability with advanced backup and replication strategies. And it was good.
After trying out proxmox I can say that:
- VM performance under windows is much faster on vmware. I think this boils down to the drivers for storage. I could go more into detail but not here.
- Containers and Linux VMs are offering me more than I ever really hoped for in proxmox.
But now I'm starting to think what the alternatives are really. VMware was a windows first virtualization platform. Other virtualization platforms in the open source ecosystem really put things like Linux first. Having to race to get to the point of hosting windows systems with constantly increasing licensing prices has really diminished the value to me of virtualization over all for windows.
I think we as a community need to move away from windows on the server and embrace technologies like containers, docker, podman, Kubernetes and phase out reliance on Windows.
For starters, does anybody have a rock solid setup guide for a Kubernetes Active Directory System?
Did they disable the review option on this game? I don't see it anymore.
I wonder if the guy who did this voice over is part of a union.... Probably just AI.
Honestly always online DRM is illegal. You cannot provide a good a service. All these companies who are planting these time bombs into software and devices need to be handed a big FU and realize that they are creating the piracy they claim to protect against.
I like Valve, but I don't like them enough to believe they won't close my account on a whim for no reason one day.
