Can you tell if an AI is being trained on these Lemmy instances? How would you detect it and stop it?
Just a thought, remakes like this tend to appeal to people in the PC crowd. We've all moved to PC for various different reasons. Better games, better prices, better hardware? Emulation and software preservation is the name of the game for a lot of people. Those people are working everyday to make things like the steam deck the dream game console they always wanted. That's the kind of person who will go back and replay Final Fantasy 7 four or five times.
Can you put music on it without iTunes?
Hot Take: There are only a handful of original super hero stories. Everything else is essentially Buffy the Vampire slayer.
Don't get me wrong, I love Buffy. It really set the modern standard for the modern TV and Movie super hero. The few SuperHero movies we get that aren't a Buffy derivative tend to be more dark Alan Moore-esque derived stories. Alan Moore sees Heros as flawed, twisted, sad, and relatable. Buffy does this too but it's wit and humor gives it a candy coated shell.
"Dawn's been kidnapped... Must be Tuesday"
It also feels like they took the formula and put it on its head, instead of monster of the week we now get hero of the week. Audiences tend to come back for sequels when you have a strong cast of protags. But now you have too many protags and the monsters are all samey. This is how you eventually end up with DC character themed Isekai.
Thanks for listening to my semi coherent rant.
This game is such a mess.
Cool maybe this means more indie games...
Idk I gave up a long time ago when I learned rolling layoffs was the norm in game development.
Don't you think this game looks boring?
Nintendo, "Sure that sounds like a great idea ... For me to poop on!"
The original artist and everyone who's viewed the video receives a cease and desist the following morning. They are all instructed to carefully and completely remove any Zelda related material from their minds or otherwise be charged with thought piracy.
Wow! Great! Nice! Anyway...
I think the pricing is fair too. I'm just doing some quick math.
-
24k users on day one
-
if they all paid 16$ for a year that would be $384k a year
-
if just 1% of that user base buys sync for a year that's 38k a year ($3200 before any taxes or other costs)
-
potential donations to lemmy (2 of the $16 dollars) cuts down to $2800 a month
-
cost for infrastructure to run the app is unknown but it comes out of that $2800 for the app subscribers.
In this 1% case, that is not a lot of money.
With an app of this calibur, if there are more subscribers we would see rapid growth as it's still in its early days an needs more subscribers. Apps stagnate when they hit their growth limit.
I think you'll get the most on your return on investment if you choose to pay. SYNC is a great app and I will gladly pay for continued development.
Note: I also do think that ads are imorral. If sync made enough off subscribers to provide an experience without ads to free users I think it should be considered.
No one can undo years of economic turbulence in three years. Everyone feels like they're being gaslit because they are. The patient will bleed out before you finish applying the first bandaid.
