Not quite. You understood that the blue character was correct. You just missed that the joke was that yellow was wrong.

Oh boy, I've been collecting these for years. Finally my time to shine!

DM or reply if you want more stupid pictures.

LLMs are pretty good at reverse dictionary lookup. If I'm struggling to remember a particular word, I can describe the term very loosely and usually get exactly what I'm looking for. Which makes sense, given how they work under the hood.

I've also occasionally used them for study assistance, like creating mnemonics. I always hated the old mnemonic I learned in school for the OSI model because it had absolutely nothing to do with computers or communication; it was some arbitrary mnemonic about pizza. Was able to make an entirely new mnemonic actually related to the subject matter which makes it way easier to remember: "Precise Data Navigation Takes Some Planning Ahead". Pretty handy.

I follow Blender on Mastodon and, about a month ago, they started this campaign to see if they could double the amount of donations (from approximately 1% of users to 2% of users), and it's been decently successful so far just by putting "Can you donate?" banners in more places (and posting memes about donating on their social media).

Here's a short video they put out about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-v7Uhoot4Qg

I think the funding campaign only lasts a month, so it's probably about over (though donations are always accepted, this is just a brief social media campaign to increase development funds for FY2025).

I assume you mean "analogy" instead of "apology".

The "THE_PACK" community is a parody of US biker (motorcycle) culture, where many men refer to their motorcycle as their "hog".

"Hog" is also a slang term for a man's penis.

"Cranking my hog" is slang for male masturbation. I think it's also used to refer to revving up one's motorcycle in the biker community, but I'm not 100% sure of that (my old man was a biker so I am loosely familiar with some of their slang).

They intentionally misspell "hog" as "hawg" for fun. So it's just a bunch of guys standing around jokingly referencing masturbation under the guise of talking about riding their motorcycles.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. I could rave about it all day.

Also Gravity Falls like @swordgeek@lemmy.ca said.

I never watched Justice League much as a kid, but my wife re-introduced it to me as an adult and it's a pretty great mix of kid-friendly superhero stories with fairly mature themes and plotlines.

Additionally, a less awkward term than "kidult" is just "family entertainment". Shows/movies/books that can be enjoyed by a wide spectrum of ages.

I'm in a similar boat to you; whether the blobs constitute a security threat seems to still be up in the air. I read through the issue thread on github a few months back and it seemed the vast majority of the blobs were built by scripts contained in the repository, but some weren't documented well, leading to uncertainty.

The comment by Long0x0 on Aug 05 lists a lot of the blob files.

You may be entitled to compensation! (although the deadline to submit claims passed in 2018)

Could Linux save my laptop?

Depends on the root cause of the BSoD. If it's a hardware issue, then no, installing Linux won't fix an underlying hardware issue. What does the BSoD screen actually say? Any specific error code?

My understanding is that Linux is a kind of system that you download the components to a USB or what not and then install it on your machine. Is that something I could do in this case?

Yep, you could do that, but you'll need a functioning PC to create a USB installer for the Linux OS of your choice. You'll need a blank USB drive and some software to "flash" the Linux OS installer to the USB drive. e.g.: https://linuxmint-installation-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest/burn.html

I love Hank. I'm 33 and have started doing something similar to this when I have the time and want some peace and quiet. Just sitting on my back porch with an FM radio playing dadrock while staring at the trees and the clouds rolling by.
